Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 13

2 pounds beef Ribeye
1 large green bell pepper sliced
1 large onion sliced
¼ teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon oil
½ cup water
12 provolone cheese slices
12 rolls (preferably hoagie rolls)
Meat slicer/shredder
Instant Pot
Wood utensils with silicone tips
Electric salt and pepper grinder

Steps:

  • Cut the Philly steak meat into thin strips. If you have a meat shaver, you can make this into a shaved beef sandwich for a more authentic Philly cheese steak recipe.
  • On sauté mode, heat oil. Stir in onions and peppers and cook until the onions are caramelized.
  • Add beef strips to the pot along with salt and pepper. Stir the beef strips and brown them slightly, being careful not to fully cook the beef.
  • Add water and deglaze the pan. Then, cover the pot. Set on high pressure for 5 minutes.
  • After the pressure cooking cycle is done, perform a quick release. Set the pot to sauté again to cook down the liquid. Stir.
  • Serve the cheesesteak meat on rolls with provolone cheese to make a hoagie sandwich.

PRESSURE-COOKER PHILLY CHEESESTEAK SANDWICHES

Pressure-Cooker Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches image

Melt-in-your-mouth delicious! For this steak and cheese recipe, I like to saute extra onions and green pepper just until they are al dente to add to the top of the meat before melting the cheese. -Kimberly Wallace, Dennison, Ohio
