My kids love these burgers!!! They do not shrink up much and have great flavor. The pepperoni adds just enough kick!!!

1 pound ground beef
¼ pound pepperoni sausage, minced
¼ cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
1 clove garlic, minced
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat the grill for high heat.
  • In a bowl, mix the beef, pepperoni, bread crumbs, garlic, salt, and pepper. Form into burger patties.
  • Oil the grill grate. Place burger patties on the grill, and cook 5 minutes on each side, or until well done.

TURKEY-PEPPERONI BURGERS



Turkey-Pepperoni Burgers image

1 1/4 pounds ground turkey
1/4 pound sliced pepperoni, chopped (about 1 cup)
1 large sprig rosemary or sage, leaves only, chopped
1 clove garlic, grated
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley and/or basil
1/2 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest, plus 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice (from 1 lemon)
8 slices provolone cheese
4 onion rolls, split
4 slices beefsteak tomato
Lettuce leaves, for serving

Steps:

  • Put the turkey, pepperoni, rosemary, half of the garlic and 1/2 teaspoon each salt and pepper in a large bowl and mix with your hands until combined. Form into four 1/2-inch-thick patties.
  • Heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook, undisturbed, until browned, 5 minutes. Turn and cook until golden brown on the bottom, 3 more minutes. Meanwhile, whisk the mayonnaise, parsley, lemon zest and juice, and the remaining garlic in a small bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Top each patty with 2 slices cheese, cover and cook until the cheese melts, about 1 minute. Transfer the patties to a plate.
  • Toast the buns cut-side down in the skillet, then remove from the pan and spread with the herb mayonnaise. Season the tomato slices with salt and pepper. Sandwich the lettuce, burger patties and tomatoes on the buns.

Kids usually love anything with the word "pizza" attached to it, so I came up with this top-you-own pizza burger recipe. It adds variety to "pizza night" at our house and even goes over well with us "big kids". -Robin, Kornegay Seffmer, Florida

6 pieces frozen garlic Texas toast
1-3/4 pounds ground beef
1 cup pizza sauce, divided
18 slices pepperoni
12 slices part-skim mozzarella cheese, divided
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
2 teaspoons butter
6 teaspoons grated Parmesan cheese
Sliced green pepper and ripe olives, optional

Steps:

  • Prepare Texas toast according to package directions. Meanwhile, shape beef into 12 thin patties. , Top six patties with 1 tablespoon pizza sauce, three slices of pepperoni, and one slice of mozzarella cheese. Top with remaining patties; press edges firmly to seal., Grill, covered, over medium heat for 6-8 minutes on each side or until a thermometer reads 160° and juices run clear. Meanwhile, in a small skillet, saute mushrooms in butter. , Top burgers with remaining pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese. Cover and cook 3 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Serve burgers on Texas toast with mushrooms, olives, Parmesan cheese and peppers and olives if desired.

1 cup chopped pepperoni
1 sprig sage leaf, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
salt and pepper
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley or 1/4 cup fresh basil
1 small lemon, zest of
4 slices provolone cheese
4 rolls, of your choice lightly toasted
lettuce leaf
4 slices beefsteak tomatoes (optional)

Steps:

  • In a bowl place the chicken, pepperoni, half the garlic, sage, salt and pepper.
  • Mix together and form into 4 equal sized patties.
  • In large skillet, over medium heat, fry patties until desired doneness.
  • Meanwhile, combine the mayo, lemon zest, herb mixture, the other half of garlic, salt and pepper.
  • Place cheese on top of each burger and let melt.
  • Divide the mayo dressing among the 4 bun bottoms.
  • Place a patty on top, along with the lettuce and tomato, if using.
