As far back as I can remember, this spread has been used for sandwiches served after church services. It's especially tasty on toast. -Maudie Raber, Millersburg, Ohio

APPLESAUCE AND PEANUT BUTTER SPREAD OR DIP
We use this spread on bagels, toast, tortilla roll ups and for sandwiches. Since applesauces / apple butter and peanut butter vary by brands you'll have to adjust for the differences regionally. This recipe is presented as a spread, though you can adjust the amounts and use it as a dip.

AMISH PEANUT BUTTER SPREAD
Different from the other recipes because it uses Mrs. Butterworth's Syrup instead of plain Karo. I found this recipe in a cookbook I bought from a Montana Amish (Yes we have Amish in Montana!) Kitchen/Diner called The Dinnerbell Bakery and Banquets Cook Book. Seriously sinful this spread usually doesn't make it to the bread or pancakes. And of course it makes a HUGE batch, after all it IS an Amish recipe. This is probably where they get the saying "Taste makes Waist".

PEANUT BUTTER, BUTTER & HONEY SPREAD
This was one thing my Dad could whip up for us kids. We loved it spread on bread instead of just a plain peanut butter sandwich or on a cracker. This is how I got my kids to eat more veggies - they used this as a dip.

Steps:
- Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon in a large bowl. Add the buttermilk and eggs. Whisk together, gradually incorporating the flour mixture, just until combined. Add the banana slices and gently combine; the batter may be slightly lumpy. Let stand 10 minutes.
- Place a griddle pan over medium heat. Add the canola oil and butter. Using a ladle, pour 1/2 cup batter for each pancake, roughly 2 inches apart. When small bubbles appear across the surface of the pancakes and the edges lift from the griddle, flip and continue cooking until the pancakes are golden brown on the second side, about 4 minutes per side. Continue with the remaining batter.
- In a small dish using a rubber spatula, mix the peanut butter and maple syrup until combined. For each sandwich, spread some peanut butter mixture over a pancake, then top with another pancake.

WAY TOO EASY WARM PEANUT BUTTER - CHOCOLATE DIP/SPREAD
This was a pregnancy-induced creation during one of my hormonal late night snacking periods. I was craving a peanut buttery and chocolate dip for sliced bananas and came up with this. It's very creamy and delicious. Serve warm and dip your favorite accompaniments to your hearts delight, or cool and serve as a cracker spread. It's yummy either way!

CHEDDAR GOLDFISH CRACKERS WITH PEANUT BUTTER SPREAD RECIPE - (4.5/5)
Provided by Caryl
Number Of Ingredients 8
Steps:
- 1.Make the dough: Pulse the flour, butter, cheese, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and pepper together using a food processor until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Pulse in 3 to 4 tablespoons of water, 1 tablespoon at a time, and only enough so that the dough forms a ball and rides the blade. Remove, wrap in plastic, and chill for 20 minutes or up to 24 hours. 2.Make the spread: Stir the peanut butter, remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt, and honey together until smooth. If desired, stir in the cayenne pepper for extra heat. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside until ready to serve. 3.Bake the crackers: Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Line 2 baking pans with parchment paper and set aside. Roll the dough out to 1/8th-inch thickness. Cut out as many crackers as possible using a 2-inch fish-shaped cutter. Place them 1 inch apart on the prepared baking pans. Bake until golden and crisp - 15 to 20 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool. Repeat with remaining dough and scraps. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week. Serve with peanut butter spread.
