This was a snack my Dad taught me to do when I was a kid. (It's about his cooking speed!) Warm gooey peanut butter with cinnamon-sugar sprinkled on top. Now my kids are making this and loving it, too. We normally use slices of whole grain bread with natural peanut butter on ours.Cinnamon swirl bread is a real treat.

1 slice bread
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon sugar

Steps:

  • Toast your bread as dark as you like it.
  • Immediately spread the toast with the peanut butter so it gets warm and gooey.
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar and enjoy!

4 slices or wheat, country, or brioche loaf bread, cut into ½-inch slices white bread
1 cup room temperature unsalted butter
1 cup peanut butter
⅔ cup granulated sugar
2 tsp ground cinnamon
⅛ tsp salt

Steps:

  • Combine the sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a mixing bowl. Stir to evenly to incorporate and transfer to a plate.
  • Spread roughly 1½ tablespoons of butter on both sides of your bread slices. Toss the buttered slices in your cinnamon sugar to coat.
  • Place onto your lined baking sheet. Bake for roughly 5 to 8 minutes, until the edges start to turn golden brown and butter is foamy.
  • Flip and do the same on the other side on your slices for another 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Once baked, set aside at room temperature. Cool down until warm enough to handle.
  • Spread roughly ¼ cup of peanut butter per toast. You may serve with some berries and drizzle some honey.
