PALM SPRINGS DATE SHAKE
Attention: This is not a smoothie, but you can have it for breakfast if you want.

- Preheat oven to 350°F. Toast walnuts on a rimmed baking sheet, tossing once, until slightly darkened in color and fragrant, 8-10 minutes. Let cool.
- Meanwhile, place dates in a small bowl and add 1/2 cup hot water to cover; soak 10 minutes to soften.
- Blend walnuts, dates with their soaking liquid, cinnamon, and salt in a blender until a coarse paste forms. Add ice cream and 3/4 cup cracked ice and blend until smooth. Divide shake between 2 glasses.

This is an incredibly delicious milkshake packed with great flavors! This Palm Springs classic date shake is easy to make and everyone will enjoy it!

Steps:
- 1. In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, add milk and bring to a boil. Add dates and stir to separate and soaking them all in hot milk. Cover with a lid, turn off heat and let it sit for 30 minutes. Remove from the burner and cool off for 20 minutes.
- 2. Pour date mixture into the blender container. Add banana, vanilla extract, fleur de sel, freshly ground nutmeg and ice cream. Process until the ingredients are well-blended, about 2 ½ to 3 minutes. Pour in a 16-ounce glass or two 1-cup glasses. Enjoy immediately. Makes 2 cups
