ORANGE GELATIN PRETZEL SALAD

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°. Mix melted butter and 1 tablespoon sugar; stir in pretzels. Press onto bottom of an ungreased 13x9-in. baking dish. Bake 10 minutes. Cool completely on a wire rack., In a large bowl, add boiling water to gelatin; stir 2 minutes to completely dissolve. Stir in fruit. Refrigerate until partially set, about 30 minutes. , Meanwhile, in a bowl, beat cream cheese and remaining sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping. Spread over crust., Gently spoon gelatin mixture over top. Refrigerate, covered, until firm, 2-4 hours. To serve, cut into squares. If desired, top with additional whipped topping and oranges.

MANDARIN ORANGE PRETZEL SALAD RECIPE

Steps:
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
- For the first layer, combine broken pretzels, melted butter and sugar. Stir together until well blended. Press in 9 x 13 inch baking pan and bake at 350 degrees for 7 minutes. Cool completely.
- For the second layer, beat sugar and cream cheese together until smooth. Fold in Cool Whip.
- Spread cream mixture over pretzel layer (be sure to seal the cream cheese layer against the sides of the pan so that the jello mixture will not be able to leak through when added).
- For the Jell-o layer, mix orange Jell-o and boiling water together until Jello is completely dissolved. Add mandarin oranges and let cool until slightly set.
- Pour Jell-o over cream cheese layer and refrigerate until firm.
- Cut into squares and serve.

- Cut into squares. Garnish with additional whipped topping if desired.

- 1. Combine crushed pretzels and 3 tsp. sugar in a bowl; stir in melted butter. Press into a 13 x 9 baking dish and bake at 350 for 10 minutes. 2. While the pretzel layer is cooling, mix the jello with boiling water and stir until jello is dissolved. Add mandarin oranges and pineapple and set aside to cool. 3. Mix together cream cheese and 3/4 cup sugar. Fold in whipped topping and spread over the pretzel layer making sure to push the cream cheese layer to the edges so that the jello layer won't leak through. 4. With a ladle or large spoon, carefully spoon the jello mixture onto the cream cheese layer. Refrigerate until firm.
ORANGE PRETZEL SALAD
This Jello dessert is one of my personal favorites, and always gets great reviews when anyone tries it. I actually prefer this over the Strawberry pretzel salad. The recipe is another from my Taste of Home - Aug/Sept 2007 magazine..been tested and approved by my friends and family. Enjoy!

PINEAPPLE ORANGE PRETZEL SALAD
This is really more of a desert, it is light and refreshing.

- 1. Preheat oven to 350. Spray 13x9 glass baking dish. Combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 4Tbs. Sugar. Press evenly into bottom of prepared pan. Bake for10 minutes. Remove to cool completely.
- 2. Combine softened cream cheese and remaining sugar, mix with hand mixer until smooth. Add Cool whip and mix til blended. Spread mixture over cooled pretzel crust. Refrigerate.
- 3. Mix boiling water and Jello in separate bowl til dissolved and stir in pineapple. Refrigerate until slightly thickened. Spread over cream cheese layer. Refrigerate until set.
- 4. May use other combinations of fruit and jello. May use artificial, granulated sweetener to replace sugar.
