Steps:
- Add water, flour, powdered milk, sugar, salt, butter or margarine and yeast into bread machine in the order suggested by your manufacturer. Set for basic cycle with the light crust.
- When alert sound or when indicated by your manufacturer add the garlic powder, 2 tablespoons of the onion flakes and all of the shredded cheese. After the last knead sprinkle the remaining tablespoon of onion flakes over dough.
- Enjoy hot and fresh bread.

- Preheat the broiler.
- Slice the French baguettes diagonally into 3/4 inch slices.
- In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Combine the onions and garlic in the skillet. Cook and stir until tender. Set aside to cool.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese and mayonnaise.
- On a cookie sheet, arrange the French bread slices in a single layer. Spread the onion and garlic mixture on the bread slices. Spread the cheese and mayonnaise mixture over the onion and garlic mixture on the bread slices. Broil about 5 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned. Serve immediately.

- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray or butter 3 mini loaf pans (3 1/2 x 6) or 1 standard loaf pan.
- 2. Mix all dry ingredients together in a large bowl and whisk. (Can sift if you would prefer.) Using a large spoon to this bowl, add zucchini, cheese, onion and dill, coating completely.
- 3. Add wet ingredients (eggs, milk w/vinegar, and melted butter).
- 4. Stir until just blended. Place equally in to prepared pans.
- 5. Bake 3 mini loaves for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and brush with 1/2 of butter garlic powder mixture. Return to oven approximately 5 more minutes or until a toothpick comes out almost clean and they are golden brown. When done, brush with remaining butter mixture.
- 6. (For a standard size loaf, bake approximately 45 minutes, brush with butter and return for an additional 5 minutes.) I have never used a large pan myself, so watch closely.
GARLIC AND ONION CHALLAH BREAD
Steps:
- In a medium bowl, combine the yeast, warm water and 1 teaspoon of the sugar and give it a little stir. Let it sit for about 5 minutes, until it becomes foamy on top.
- Meanwhile, in a large bowl or the bowl of stand mixer fitted with a dough hook, mix together the flour, kosher salt and remaining 1/4 cup sugar. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the oil and 4 of the eggs.
- When the yeast is foamy, add it to the dry mixture immediately followed by the egg mixture and stir to combine. Knead, either by hand on a floured surface or with a dough hook, adding more white flour as necessary (but resist any urge to add too much!), until you have a smooth and slightly sticky dough, 7 to 10 minutes.
- Transfer the dough to an oiled bowl, cover it with plastic wrap and let it sit at room temperature until it has doubled in size, about 2 hours. It will take slightly longer if you're using whole wheat flour. Alternatively, you can stick it in the refrigerator overnight and then let it sit at room temperature for about an hour before shaping.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Divide the dough into 6 pieces. Roll out each piece into a large strip, 1/2 to 1/4 inch thick and about 3 inches wide. Brush down each center with melted butter. Down the center, add the chopped onions and garlic. Roll each piece to seal in the onion mixture. Braid 3 of the pieces together, tucking the ends underneath to seal. Repeat with the remaining 3 pieces to make a second loaf. Place on the lined baking sheet and cover loosely with plastic wrap. Allow to rest for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Whisk together the honey and remaining egg in a small bowl. Brush the bread top with the mixture and sprinkle with flaky salt.
- Bake until golden brown and not doughy in the center, about 35 minutes, but start checking at 28 minutes. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

- 1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. I made this crusty and flavorful bread loaf to compliment my Vegetable with Beef and Orzo Soup. It was a great addition to the soup. Spray a large shallow baking pan or cast iron skillet with non stick cooking spray and set aside till needed. Some of the ingredients used to make the bread loaf.
- 2. Sift flour into a large bowl then make a well in the center of it adding the salt, sugar & baking soda.
- 3. Then add the horseradish chopped green onion tops, granulated garlic, egg and buttermilk.
- 4. Then with a spoon or by hand gradually begin to blend the spices into the flour mixture, with the wet ingredients until the dough comes together.
- 5. Dough may tend to be a little sticky. Add enough extra flour just until it holds together. Then shape into desired shape and place on baking pan or in skillet. I chose to make it like a loaf this time. With a serrated knife make a long X across bread about 1 1/2 inches deep so that the steam can escape as the bread cooks.
- 6. Bake in preheated 450 degrees F oven for 15 minutes then REDUCE THE TEMPERATURE TO 400 DEGREES AND CONTINUE TO BAKE FOR AN ADDITIONAL 30 MINUTES OR UNTIL BREAD SOUNDS HALLOW WHEN TAPPED ON THE BOTTOM.
- 7. Remove from oven and spray with butter flavored cooking spray or brush top with softened butter if desired. I find it much easier to slice bread using an electric knife. Add softened butter while bread is warm if desired.
ONION GARLIC BEER BREAD
We absolutely love this bread! I use fresh green onions and fresh garlic. Any beer will do too! If you want to use 3 cup of self rising flour it works just as good! - Melt 1 tbsp of the butter in a medium saucepan. Add the onions, stir well, then cover and gently cook, stirring occasionally, for about 15 mins - they should be really soft but not browned. Add half the garlic, increase the heat and cook for 5 mins more, adding a splash of stock if the onions start to stick - they should brown a little now.
- Stir in the flour and chutney, and cook for 1-2 mins, then pour over most of the stock and simmer while you make the garlic bread. Mix the rest of the butter and garlic with half the parsley. Season.

- Oven-dry the bread:
- Heat the oven to 300°F.
- Slice the bread 3/4 inch thick.
- Spread the bread slices directly on the oven rack and bake until crisp all the way through (most of the moisture in the bread will be evaporated) and lightly browned, about 15 minutes.
- Cut the bread into 3/4-inch cubes (about 6 cups).
- Heat the oven to 350°F.
- Put the garlic in a small shallow baking dish, pour the vegetable oil over it, and cover with foil.
- Bake until the garlic is browned and soft, 50 to 60 minutes. Let cool.
- Pick or squeeze the pulp out of the garlic cloves and purée the pulp in a food processor; you should have about 1/3 cup.

- The onions can be made ahead of time and refrigerated until ready to use.
- Heat the oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, whisk together the cream, eggs, egg yolks, roasted garlic, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in the caramelized onions and the bread.
- Let sit for 30 minutes. to saturate the bread, stirring occasionally.
- Brush a 2-qt. (or 9x13-inch) baking dish evenly with the butter.
- Pour the bread mixture into the baking dish, distributing the ingredients evenly.
