WWII OATMEAL MOLASSES COOKIES
This was my Grandmother's recipe from the 1940's. These cookies use molasses in place of brown sugar, which was one of the items rationed during the war (and harder to get than white sugar, they tell me). To me they're better than regular oatmeal cookies!

OATMEAL MOLASSES COOKIES
The smell of these cookies take me straight back to when I was a little kid, running into the house checking the cookie jar because I knew mom had made a fresh batch! The molasses keeps them soft and chewy as well as giving them their distinct flavor. These remain my ALL-TIME favorite cookie. Makes approx. 3 dozen, depending on...

OATMEAL MOLASSES DROP COOKIES
I *love* these cookies! They are chewy, chunky, spicy, and delicious! The recipe originally came from Betty Crocker's Cooky Book and were listed as "The Best Cooky of 1900-1910". For a change, try substituting cut-up dates or other dried fruits for the raisins. NOTE: If you replace the shortening with butter as many reviewers have done, you will probably get a crispier vs. chewy cookie.

SORGHUM MOLASSES OATMEAL COOKIES
These cookies are very flavorful, not at all like the typical oatmeal cookie. If Sorghum isn't available in your neck of the woods, you can certainly substitute Molasses. For those that like raisins or chocolate chips, add as necessary. Some of our family doesn't appreciate the taste of chips or raisins, so I make some plain, and some with.

CRANBERRY WHITE CHOCOLATE OATMEAL MOLASSES COOKIES
I love oatmeal raisin cookies and stumbled across several recipes with Oatmeal.craisins, and white chocolate.I've changed around abit and came up with this one,by adding whole wheat stone ground flour, cinnamon and molasses, made a totally different and delicious cookie. I've been reading here and there about eggs when added to baked goods need to be at room temp... so I decided to soak the cranberries with the eggs, vanilla and molasses to see what happens. The cranberries did absorb some of the vanilla and molasses flavoring and seemed more moist instead of dried up hard chewies.... and no brown sugar in this one as I've already added enough molasses for flavoring.. I only the small amount of pecans as the cookie had a lot going on already.. and just wanted to use them up...but I'm glad.. it was just enough these turned out to be a lightly soft cookie with a little crispy edge..not to crispy or to soft

OATMEAL MOLASSES COOKIES
90 yr. old grandpa is coming for a visit. Since cookies are a part of his daily diet, I'm going to attempt to make him healthier versions. I looked through a dozen recipes on this site for molasses cookies and then came up with my own that fit what ingredients I had while still maintaining a healthier approach to cookies.
