Love O'Henry bars? Here is the same great taste in a make-at-home slice. This has been a favourite in my husband's family for years-hence the name.

Yield 1 8x8 inch slice

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon butter
2/3 cup salted peanuts
2 cups Rice Krispies
1 package semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons peanut butter
1 little butter

Steps:

  • Combine the peanut butter, corn syrup, and brown sugar.
  • Stir and cook until it just comes to the boil.
  • Add the butter, Rice Krispies, and peanuts.
  • Pack into a well greased 8" by 8" pan.
  • Combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and melt.
  • Add enough butter to make it the consistency of icing.
  • Pour the icing over the slice.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 C. corn syrup
1 C. white sugar
6 oz. chocolate chips
6 oz. butterscotch chips
2 C. peanut butter
4 C. or a little more rice krispies

Steps:

  • Boil 1 minute corn syrup and sugar. Then add peanut butter and rice krispies. Cool. Top with melted chocolate chips and butterscotch chips.

These bars are from my mom's cookbook and a hit with everyone. At work potlucks my co-workers request this everytime!

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 c white sugar
1 c white karo syrup
1 1/2 c peanut butter
6 c rice krispies
1 pkg nestle chocolate chips
1 pkg nestle butterscotch chips

Steps:

  • 1. Heat until ready to boil: sugar and karo syrup, take off burner. Add: peanut butter and mix until smooth. Pour over rice krispies in a large bowl and mix. Press into 9x13 buttered pan. Melt chocolate chips and butterscotch chips, frost bars.
