Categories     Desserts

Time 3h10m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1/3 c sugar
1 Tbsp cornstarch
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp salt
1 1/2 c half and half
2 egg yolks
1 Tbsp unsalted butter
1 tsp vanilla
3-4 bananas, sliced
24 vanilla wafer, crushed
whipped cream (for serving)

Steps:

  • 1. Whisk together sugar, cornstarch, nutmeg and salt in a medium saucepan, then whisk in half and half and egg yolks. Place over medium heat and cook, whisking constantly, until pudding thickens and begins to boil, 5-8 minutes. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla. Whisk until butter has melted. Transfer pudding to a bowl and refrigerate until cold, about 3 hours.
  • 2. In your preferred serving dish (I used individual parfait glasses. You could also use ramekins or even a casserole dish if serving a bigger crowd), create two sets of layers using the bananas, 1/3 of the pudding and Nilla wafers. Top with the remaining 1/3 of the pudding.
  • 3. Before serving, top with whipped cream and additional banana slices and Nilla wafers, if desired. ENJOY!!

BANANA PUDDING BARS | NO-BAKE DESSERT WITH A BUTTERY NILLA WAFER CRUST

Banana Pudding Bars | No-Bake Dessert With A Buttery Nilla Wafer Crust image

These sweet and creamy No-Bake Banana Pudding Bars have a buttery Nilla Wafer crust, just like real banana pudding! Perfect dessert for a party! #BananaPudding

Provided by @MakeItYours

Number Of Ingredients 8

11 oz box vanilla wafers, crushed very fine
1 stick Challenge Salted Butter, melted
4 oz cream cheese, softened
5.1 ounces box instant pudding (banana cream or vanilla flavored)
1 3/4 cups whole milk , cold
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
8 ounces cool whip, thawed
3 medium bananas, sliced into 3/4-inch thick coins

Steps:

  • Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper sling that hangs off of two sides.
  • In a large bowl, stir together crushed vanilla wafers and butter until well combined. The mixture should hold it's shape in your hand when you squeeze it. Pour the crust mixture into the prepared pan and press very firmly into an even layer in the bottom of the pan. Evenly spread sliced bananas on top of the crust layer.
  • In a large bowl using a hand mixer, beat cream cheese until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk to combine the dry pudding mixture, milk and vanilla until smooth. Slowly pour the pudding mixture into the beaten cream cheese, beating constantly, until all pudding mixture is incorporated and mixture is smooth. Let pudding mixture sit for 5 minutes to thicken up, then fold in cool whip, until well combined.
  • Pour pudding mixture on top of banana slices and smooth the top with a spatula as needed. Cover bars with foil or saran wrap and store in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours (or overnight).
  • When ready to serve, take the bars out of the refrigerator and carefully lift the parchment paper sides out and set on a cutting board. Using a large knife, slice the bars into squares. To keep your slices clean/neat: run your knife under hot water in between slicing and wipe off with a towel.
  • For garnish, you can top each bar with more cool whip, banana slices and/or mint sprigs.

Easy Banana Pudding - Nilla Wafers image

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 1/3 c. 1 1/3 c.milk
1 1 package instant vanilla pudding mix
1 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz.)
3 cups 3 c. heavy cream
1 teaspoons 1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 box 1 box vanilla wafer cookies (12 oz.)
4 4 bananas, sliced into coins
2 teaspoons 2 tsp. sugar

Steps:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine milk, vanilla pudding mix and sweetened condensed milk. Whisk thoroughly, breaking up any lumps, and refrigerate for at least 5 minutes, or until set.
  • In another large bowl, combine heavy cream and vanilla. Beat until stiff peaks form, about 2-3 minutes. Set aside half of the mixture for topping the dish. Fold remaining half into the pudding mixture.
  • Cover the bottom of a 3-quart trifle dish with vanilla wafers. Top with one-third of the pudding mixture. Cover with another layer of the wafer cookies-you may want to also stand some cookies up vertically, so you see the full circle along the edge of the trifle dish. Top with an even layer of banana slices. Continue layering the pudding, wafer cookies and banana slices until you reach the top, ending with a final layer of banana pudding.
  • Refrigerate for at least 3 hours, or overnight.
  • Sweeten the remaining whipped cream: Add sugar to whipped cream, stirring to combine. Dollop on top of the banana pudding, then sprinkle crumbled wafer cookies on top, just before serving.
