This is a recipe from Brother Boniface, a 95 year old Trappist Monk at Mepkin Abbey in Moncks Corner, SC. He is German Born, and attributes this recipe to his "Mutter", who made it for each of her children on their "Name Day".

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350.
- With an electric mixer, cream eggs, butter and sugar until fluffy and light.
- Add flour, baking powder and lemon rind.
- Beat or whip it until the dough falls heavily from a spoon.
- Bake in a 13X9 glass baking pan or fluted cake pan at 350 for 50 to 60 minutes.
- Top with strawberries and cream for an extra delight.

- mix all three ingredients together.
- bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes in a greased or pamed nine by nine pan.
- Very good.
MINA PACHTER'S GESUNDHEITS KUCHEN
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease and lightly flour a tube pan.
- Beat the yolks well. Add the sugar, beating well again. Add the cooled butter, almonds and almond extract, and mix well.
- Fold in the flour, baking powder, salt, lemon rind and milk.
- Beat the egg whites until stiff but not dry, and fold in.
- Pour into the greased pan, and bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the cake comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out and cool completely. Sprinkle the top with confectioners' sugar.
