Maryland Shrimp Salad is perfect for sandwiches, salads, or for scooping with a sleeve of saltines crackers right out of the bowl.

12 oz cooked shrimp
1/2 c mayo
1/4 c celery (diced)
1/4 c red onion (dice)
1 tbsp dill (fresh)
1-2 tsp capers (minced)
2 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp lemon zest
1/2 tsp old bay
black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Add the shrimp, old bay, and all the other ingredient except mayo and toss. Add the mayo and mix well. Sprinkle a little black pepper if desired. Serve over a salad, in a wrap, or with crackers.

Maryland Style Shrimp Salad! This is a conglomeration of a bunch of recipes, made to suit my taste... and hopefully yours!

5 lbs large shrimp
1 lb celery, diced
1 medium red onion, diced
2 -3 tablespoons Old Bay Seasoning, heaping
2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 cup Miracle Whip
4 tablespoons lemon juice

Steps:

  • Steam the Shrimp and then peel and clean. Dice into whatever size you'd like on a sandwich.
  • Combine the celery, onion, Old Bay, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, Miracle Whip and lemon juice. Stir to uniformly disperse all ingredients.
  • Add the Shrimp and stir to coat.
  • Serve cold.

3 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 lemon cut into quarters
4 pounds large shrimp in the shell (16 to 20 shrimp per pound)
2 cups good mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons white wine or white wine vinegar
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
6 tablespoons minced fresh dill
1 cup minced red onion (1 onion)
3 cups minced celery (6 stalks)

Steps:

  • Bring 5 quarts of water, 3 tablespoons salt, and the lemon to a boil in a large saucepan. Add half the shrimp and reduce the heat to medium. Cook uncovered for only 3 minutes or until the shrimp are barely cooked through. Remove with a slotted spoon to a bowl of cold water. Bring the water back to a boil and repeat with the remaining shrimp. Let cool; then peel, and devein the shrimp.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, mustard, wine or vinegar, 1 teaspoon salt, pepper, and dill. Combine with the peeled shrimp. Add the red onion and celery and check the seasonings. Serve or cover and refrigerate for a few hours.

Being raised in Maryland my parents always used old bay seasoning on crabs & shrimp..........so why not in the shrimp salad.

3/4 lb shrimp (30-40 count
1/4 c cup mayonnaise ( i use hellmans)
4 tsp diced celery
1 Tbsp green onion, green parts only, diced
3/4 tsp old bay seasoning
1 pinch celery seed
1/8 tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp parsley
1/2 tsp lemon juice

Steps:

  • 1. Heat 1-2 cups of water to a boil over a steamer basket. Add the shrimp and steam until just cooked -- 4 minutes should do it. Cool shrimp.
  • 2. and de-vein the shrimp and slice lengthwise (or leave them whole)
  • 3. Combine the shrimp and the remaining ingredients in a bowl. Chill for an hour or up to 24 hours. Serve in a bowl, on white bread with lettuce and tomato. We like ours on mini bagels.

1 lb shrimp, steamed and peeled (I have the Seafood Department steam and season for me)
⅓ cup finely chopped celery
¼ cup finely chopped onion
¼ cup mayonnaise
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp Old Bay seasoning

Steps:

  • Stir together celery, onion, mayo, lemon juice, and Old Bay.
  • Cut shrimp in half if large. You can chop if you like smaller pieces, but I like chunks.
  • Stir in shrimp.
  • Cover and chill at least 2 hours.
