If you love the Mongolian Sauce at your favorite Mongolian Grill restaurant, then you'll love this recipe. The original version was a bit too sweet for me, so I just reduced the brown sugar to 1/4 cup instead of 1/2 cup.

1 teaspoon olive oil or 1 teaspoon canola oil
1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup brown sugar

Steps:

  • Warm oil in sauce pan. Add ginger and garlic, stirring quickly to avoid scorching. Add water, soy sauce and sugar allowing sugar to dissolve. Bring sauce to a boil then reduce heat to low and simmer until thickens to desired consistency.
  • If using to brown with meat, add to meat once meat is cooked thoroughly. Simmer until thick.
  • If using with veggies, add ¼ to ½ c to veggies to stir fry.

1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon wasabi paste
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 to 3 pounds chicken wing drumettes
1 cup honey
1/2 cup sweet soy sauce
1/3 cup sambal chili sauce
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
3 tablespoons Sriracha sauce
2 tablespoons chopped fresh ginger
2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1 tablespoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
Canola oil, for frying

Steps:

  • For the dipping sauce: Combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, cilantro, lime juice and wasabi in a small bowl and season with salt and pepper. Keep the sauce in the fridge until ready to serve.
  • For the wings: Cut the meat of the drumettes at the base of the bone and pull the meat down to form lollipops.
  • In a saucepan, combine the honey, sweet soy sauce, sambal chili sauce, vinegar, Sriracha, ginger, low-sodium and regular soy sauce, garlic, black pepper and salt. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat and cook until thickened a bit. Remove from the heat and transfer to a large bowl.
  • Fill a large, heavy pot just over halfway with oil. Heat the oil over medium-high heat until a deep-fry thermometer inserted in the oil registers 350 degrees F. Fry the wings in batches until golden brown and cooked through, 8 to 10 minutes. Immediately toss the hot wings with the sauce.
  • Serve the wings with the dipping sauce on the side.

6 clove garlic minced
1 1/2 c soy sauce
1 1/2 c water
2 c brown sugar
2 Tbsp sweet chili sauce

  • 1. Mix all ingredients together in pan on stove top. Bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and simmer 20 minutes until thickened.
  • 2. You can place in fridge, freeze, or can this in pressure canner at 10 lb. pressure for 1 hour

SAUCE AND MARINADE
1 tsp canola oil
1 tsp ginger minced
3 clove garlic minced
1/2 c soy sauce
1/2 c water
1 c brown sugar
6 boneless skinless chicken thighs

500 g ground lamb
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 small onion, chopped
50 g stale breadcrumbs
2 teaspoons dry sherry
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1 egg
2 tablespoons vegetable oil (I use olive)
1 large red pepper, sliced (capsicum)
4 green shallots, sliced
1 lamb stock cube (I use vegita) or 1 beef stock cube (I use vegita)
1 teaspoon cornflour
250 ml water
2 teaspoons hoisin sauce
2 teaspoons sweet chili sauce
1 teaspoon peanut butter (or can use tahini)
1/2 teaspoon five-spice powder
40 g unsalted dry roasted peanuts

Steps:

  • Combine lamb, garlic, ginger, onion, breadcrumbs, sherry, soy sauce, parsley and egg in bowl.
  • Roll level tablespoons of mixture into balls; place on tray and refrigerate for one hour.
  • Heat oil in wok.
  • Add meatballs in batches; stir fry gently until meatballs are cooked, remove.
  • Add pepper and shallot; stir fry.
  • Add meatballs, crumbed stock cube or (vegita) blended cornflour and water, remaining sauces, peanut butter and spice powder.
  • Stir until mixture boils and thickens slightly.
  • Serve sprinkled with peanuts.

1/2 cup low sodium tamari sauce
2 tablespoons evaporated cane juice
1/4 cup rice vinegar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1/2 cup sake
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup low sodium ketchup
Pinch dried coriander leaves
Pinch ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes
1/4 cup minced leeks
2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons low sodium tamari sauce

Steps:

  • 1. In a large saucepan, combine first tamari, evaporated cane juice, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sake and first water and bring to a boil. Add ketchup, coriander leaves, dry ginger and red chili flakes. Simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat. 2. In a small bowl, combine leeks, garlic, fresh ginger, water and second tamari sauce. 1 1/2 lbs beef tenderloin, silverskin trimmed
1 tablespoon thin soy sauce
1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cucumber, peeled and sliced into 1/4-inch thick diagonal slices
2 1/2 tablespoons peanut oil
1 medium onion, cut in half and sliced thinly
1 1/2 inches cube gingerroot, peeled and thinly sliced
2 garlic cloves, peeled and thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Cut tenderloin into 1/2" thick medallions. Toss with two soy sauces and cornstarch and allow to marinate at least twenty minutes.
  • After cutting cucumber and first jalapeno, use them to completely line a serving platter, with the cucumber in the center, and the jalapeno as decoration along the edges as shown above.
  • Heat wok until it is smoking. Add peanut oil and heat until it shimmers. Add onion slices and stir fry until they turn golden. Add ginger, jalapeno and garlic to wok and stir and fry until garlic begins to turn golden.
  • Add meat in a single layer, and let sit undisturbed for at least one minute, or until the meat is seared well on the bottom. Begin stir frying with the goal of simply searing the outside of the meat, while the inside stays medium rare.
