BANANA SLUSH PUNCH

Banana Slush Punch image

This is a delicious, refreshing non-alcoholic punch. It's wonderful on a very hot day. Its only disadvantage is that, as the recipe says, it has to be drunk fairly quickly, before the slush melts. So this isn't a recipe to use at a party where the punch may sit in the bowl for quite awhile.

FROZEN BANANA PUNCH

Frozen Banana Punch image

This rich, not-overly-sweet punch makes a lovely change from the same old sherbet/gingerale stuff that shows up at most wedding showers.

Categories     Punch Beverage

Time 8h15m

Yield 5 qts. of base, 120 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

24 ounces frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
12 ounces frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
46 ounces unsweetened canned pineapple juice
6 ripe bananas

2 -4 cups sugar
10 liters ginger ale or 10 liters carbonated lemon-lime beverage

Steps:

  • Combine fruit juice and lemonade in a 1.5-gallon container.
  • In small batches in a blender, puree the bananas with water and sugar. Add the banana mash to the fruit juices. I use a stick blender to make sure that all ingredients are well-blended.
  • Freeze the base in 5 1-quart containers.
  • The day of service, thaw the punch base until it is slushy.
  • Add two liters of mixer for every quart of punch base.
  • Serving suggestion: Punch cups may be garnished with skewered fruit.
  • I think 2 cups of sugar is enough. Add more to adjust to your own taste.

BANANA BRUNCH PUNCH

Banana Brunch Punch image

This is my favorite punch recipe, from an issue of Taste of Home magazine. We have enjoyed it on special occasions for the last 8 years because it's so tangy and refreshing just as punch should be. But, I will often freeze half of the punch base separately and keep it in the freezer for a family breakfast or a hot summer day. The first 5 ingredients make 3 quarts of frozen base. The final two ingredients are for serving.

BANANA CRUSH PUNCH

Banana Crush Punch image

It is no secret that I am a die-hard nanner fan. I love nanners any way I can get 'em. However, I think my favorite way to have them is in a flavorful drink. This recipe I got from an ancient cookbook compiled by home ec teachers. Miz Knaus (whoever you are), I salute you!! (Passive time is freeze time - it will vary depending on how firm you freeze it and how far ahead you make it. I would make it the day before serving, so I said 8 hours (overnight).
