MEAT LOVER'S PIZZA CRESCENT RING
Cheesy and triple-meat-filled, this crescent ring is like a stromboli only flaky, thanks to the crescent dough. Perfect for a large gathering--slice, dip and eat.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Cook the sausage, stirring and breaking up into pieces, in a medium skillet over medium-high heat until browned in some spots and cooked through, 6 to 7 minutes. Transfer to a medium bowl and stir in the pizza sauce. Let cool slightly, about 15 minutes.
- Coat the back of a baking sheet with cooking spray. Unroll both cans of crescent dough and separate unto 16 triangles. Put a 5-inch ramekin in the center of the prepared baking sheet. Arrange the triangles in a ring around the ramekin so the short sides of the dough are touching the ramekin, overlapping slightly, and the pointed ends are facing outward (it should look like a giant sun).
- Spoon the sausage mixture over the short ends of the triangles closest to the ramekin. Cover the sausage with the ham slices. Top the ham with the pepperoni and then cover pepperoni with cheese slices. Remove the ramekin. Take hold of the pointed end of one of the triangles and fold it up and over the filling, tucking the tip under the bottom edge of dough to secure (the dough will not cover the filling completely). Repeat with the remaining triangles (there will be some gaps where you can see the mixture).
- Bake until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 25 minutes. Brush the dough with the butter and sprinkle with the Italian seasoning. Let cool for 15 minutes. Use a spatula to slide the ring off the baking sheet onto a platter. Serve with more pizza sauce.

ITALIAN LAYERED MEAT-AND-POTATO LOAF WITH ROASTED TOMATOES
This is a slightly different take on meatloaf, and when you prepare the tomatoes (their garlicy-olive oil taste make a very complementary combination) as well you've got an entire delicious meal. I think the only thing really "Italian" about this dish is the red/white/green color combination (as found in the Italian flag) that you get from the ingredients, but I've left the name as I found it on some now un-remembered website. Warning: this is a recipe for people who don't mind using their hands . . .

Steps:
- Pre-heat oven to 200°C.
- FOR THE MEATLOAF:.
- Boil potatoes till tender; drain.
- Add milk and salt and pepper to taste; potatoes should still be pretty dry, but hold together enough to work with in a later step.
- While the potatoes are boiling, add oil to a frying pan and saute the onion, pepper, and garlic till tender, but not brown (about 3-5 minutes); take off heat and allow to cool.
- In a large bowl, combine the onion mix, minced meat, breadcrumbs, basil and egg; add salt and pepper to taste and mix very well (use your hands).
- Place half of the meat mixture in a baking dish, shaping it into a rather wide loaf with a flattened top (since you will be stacking the other ingredients above).
- Take half of the mashed potatoes, and make a level layer of them above the meat base (once again, hands work best).
- Cover the potato layer with the spinach leaves.
- Cover the spinach with the mozzarella, again making a level layer.
- Cover this with the remaining potatoes, once again leveling.
- Finish off with the remaining meat, molding and shaping it to not only cover the top, but down the sides as needed to keep the stacks together.
- Bake for 20 minutes, glaze the top with honey, and continue baking for 20 to 25 more minutes.
- Allow to rest 5 minutes before slicing.
- FOR THE TOMATOES:.
- Just as you are placing the meatloaf in the oven, wash tomatoes, and slice in half horizontally.
- Remove the pips and juices with your fingers.
- Sprinkle the tomato cavities with salt, then turn them upside down on a paper towel (this will help remove extra juices which would tend to make them mushy when baking).
- After fifteen minutes, place the tomato halves right side up on a non-stick baking sheet.
- Place the garlic slivers in the tomato cavities (at least two per cavity) and drizzle with olive oil (to taste, but I recommend about 1/2 tsp per tomato).
- At the time that you glaze the meatloaf with the honey, place the tomatoes in the oven (thus, bake for 20-25 minutes).

MEAT LOVERS ITALIAN MEAT AND POTATO RING
Sometimes it's good to be bad. This is sinfully delicious. It's spicy, super meaty, greasy and just to die for!!! Live a little, next time you want a meaty pizza, try this instead!

Steps:
- Prepare a large 13" baking dish, I used a cast iron skillet. Brush olive oil on bottom and sides to coat. Do not over grease, this dish has enough fat in it!!!
- Cook the Italian sausage till just done, don't overcook.
- Wash potatoes, then slice thinly, I use a mandolin on medium cut. If using the large round deli sliced hard salami and pepperoni, cut slices in half. If using the smaller round of each you may need a pound of each one.
- Layer potatoes with salami and pepperoni halves, then spoon on the Italian sausage. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning, granulated garlic and black pepper. I would advise against using salt, this dish is already pretty salty from the meats used.
- Cover tightly with foil, place in a preheated 350º oven for 30 min. Remove foil and bake another 30 min.
- Remove from oven, turn broiler on low. Spoon on pizza sauce (drizzle), not to completely cover the dish, just hit and miss. Then sprinkle on cheeses and red pepper flake. Return to oven under a low broiler for about 5 min, just until cheese is melted and slightly brown. Remove and allow to cool for a few minutes, if you can wait that long, enjoy!!!
