12 large scallops, muscle removed and patted dry
1/2 teaspoon hot paprika (or as needed)
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 tablespoon ginger, minced
1/4 cup low sodium chicken broth
3 tablespoons maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon chives, chopped (for garnish)
