1/3 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons dried minced onion
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons white wine or white grape juice
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional
1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce, optional
2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, cubed
1 pound imitation crabmeat, chopped
Assorted crackers or fresh vegetables

Steps:

  • In a food processor, combine the first 8 ingredients. Cover and process until smooth. Transfer to a large microwave-safe bowl. Stir in crab; mix well. , Cover and microwave on high until bubbly, 2-3 minutes. Serve warm with crackers or vegetables.

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
½ cup sour cream
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 ½ tablespoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dry mustard
garlic powder to taste
½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese
¾ pound fresh crabmeat
3 dashes hot sauce
Old Bay Seasoning TM to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease a 1 quart baking dish.
  • In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard, garlic powder and about 2 tablespoons of the Cheddar cheese. Fold in crabmeat, hot sauce and 2 tablespoons seafood seasoning.
  • Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Top with remaining Cheddar cheese and seafood seasoning. Bake in the preheated oven 30 minutes, or until bubbly and lightly browned.

A lower fat alternative for those of us who love our hot dip but not the inches it tends to add to the waistline. I usually add a bit more hot sauce than is called for in this recipe, but to each her own.

8 tablespoons low-fat cream cheese
1/3 cup 1% fat cottage cheese
1 teaspoon light mayonnaise
7 1/2 ounces canned crabmeat, drained
4 tablespoons green onions, minced
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon louisiana hot sauce or 1/2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1/2 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Using a stick blender, combine cream cheese, cottage cheese, and mayonnaise, blending until smooth.
  • Add remaining ingredients and stir with a fork until well combined.
  • Lightly coat a small casserole dish or pie plate with non-fat cooking spray.
  • Pour crab mixture into casserole dish.
  • Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
  • I serve this with crackers and torn up chunks of sourdough bread.

This cold crab dip recipe was handed down from my late aunt. I always loved this dip during our get-togethers. I searched all over the internet and never found a similar recipe so I decided to share this!

1 (6 ounce) can cooked crabmeat, drained
1 tablespoon minced white onion
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Steps:

  • Mix together cream cheese, crab, onion, parsley, honey, horseradish, and lemon juice in a bowl until thoroughly combined. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish, drained (can use more or less to taste)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 (6 ounce) cans crabmeat, drained
3 green onions, finely chopped
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Blend cream cheese, sour cream and mayonnaise well (I use a hand mixer to get it super smooth).
  • Stir in remaining ingredients.
  • Allow to chill for at least a half hour before serving to give the flavors a chance to blend together.
  • Serve with your favorite crackers or crostini.
  • This is also good made with either tuna or smoked salmon (could probably also use canned salmon, but I've never tried it that way).
  • Dip could be warmed in a 350 degree oven if a warm dip is preferred.
