These are a fat-free version of rice krispie treats. They are made with honey instead of butter. They are just as quick to make and prepare as the original.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 package (283g) marshmallows
6 cups (180g) puffed rice cereal
2 tbs (42g) honey
1/4 tsp (1g) salt

Steps:

  • Prep a 9x13 (23x33cm) dish by lightly spraying with non-stick cooking spray. (You can use oil, margarine or butter, but it will add a trace amount of fat.)
  • In large saucepan, spray with cooking spray if the pan with cooking spray. (Do not use cooking spray on non-stick pans.) Melt honey over low heat. Add marshmallows and salt. Stir until completely melted.
  • Remove from heat; immediately stir in rice cereal until well coated.
  • Pour mixture into prepared dish and press mixture down with the back of the spoon, or a piece of wax paper that is coated with non-stick cooking spray. Let cool before cutting and slicing, about 1/2 hour.
  • Store in an airtight container.

300 g marshmallows
6 cups crispy rice cereal
3 tablespoons butter, replacement (Molly McButter or Butter Buds)

Steps:

  • Melt marshmallows over low heat until smooth.
  • Or microwave on HIGH for approximately 2-3 minutes until smooth.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add Molly McButter® Natural Butter; mix well.
  • Add crispy rice cereal.
  • Stir until well coated.
  • Spray 13x9x2" (33x23x10cm) pan with oil. Press mixture into pan.
  • Cool, cut into squares.

1 lb ground turkey
1 cup Egg Beaters egg substitute (fat free egg substitute)
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon onion salt
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
1 (2 ounce) package Lipton Onion Soup Mix
20 fat-free saltine crackers, crushed
1/2 cup chopped sweet gherkin (optional)
1/2 cup chopped green olives (optional)
extra ketchup, to top, if desired

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Mix all ingredients together well (except for green olives and sweet pickles).
  • After you mix, if desired, add either sweet pickles (which is my favorite, or green olives).
  • Mold into oval loaf, and place on baking sheet.
  • Bake for 45 minutes.
  • Add extra ketchup if desired and bake another 1/2 hour.

WILD RICE MEATLOAF

This is a great twist on regular meatloaf. This is very unique and hearty. It's full of tangy wild rice and pockets of cheddar cheese.CHEDDAR CHEESE

4 cups cooked wild rice
1 lb uncooked lean ground beef
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup dry breadcrumbs
1 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground sage
3/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl; mix well.
  • Firmly press into a greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
  • Bake uncovered at 350°F for 70 minutes. Cover with foil during the last 15 minutes if you think the top is browning too quickly.
