I invented this recipe while looking for a different way to cook broccoli that was lower in fat and sodium. Quick, colorful and tasty, it makes a quick and easy accompaniment to a variety of meals.-Jim MacNeal, Waterloo, New York

1 cup chopped onion
1 cup julienned sweet red pepper
1/4 cup olive oil
12 cups fresh broccoli florets
1-1/3 cups water
3 teaspoons minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, saute onion and red pepper in oil for 2-3 minutes or until crisp-tender. Stir in the broccoli, water, garlic, salt and pepper. Cover and cook over medium heat for 5-6 minutes or until broccoli is crisp-tender.

2 head of broccoli, washed and chopped
2 cups of water
Salt
Pepper
4 Tablespoons salted butter
1 Tablespoon minced garlic
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Chop and prepare broccoli into smaller pieces. Place in a skillet with 2 cups of water. Season with salt and pepper (probably about a teaspoon of each) Bring to a boil. Cover with a lid and let it steam for 5-7 minutes. Drain excess water. Add butter and let it melt. Toss the broccoli in the butter. Add garlic and parmesan and make sure everything gets covered in it. Remove and enjoy!

6 slices OSCAR MAYER Bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
3 Tbsp. KRAFT Sun Dried Tomato Vinaigrette Dressing
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb. broccolini, trimmed
1/4 cup water

Steps:

  • Cook and stir bacon in large skillet on medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon from skillet with slotted spoon; drain on paper towels. Discard all but 1 Tbsp. drippings from skillet.
  • Add dressing and garlic to reserved drippings in skillet; mix well. Stir in broccolini; cook on medium-high heat 3 min., stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in water; cover. Simmer on medium heat 2 min. or until broccolini is crisp-tender. Add bacon; mix lightly.

13 ounces broccoli, florrettes
4 1/2 ounces shredded swiss cheese
1 yellow onion, quartered and sliced
1 head garlic, diced
1 tablespoon italian seasoning
1 teaspoon dried cilantro
1/2 cup dry white wine
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 lb white mushroom, quartered

Steps:

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add broccoli, onion, Italian seasoning and cilantro. Stir occasionally until broccoli and onion are tender, about 10 minutes,.
  • Add garlic and quartered mushrooms. Stir occasionally until mushrooms are tender,about 5 minutes.
  • Add tomatoes and wine, stir occasionally until tomatoes are cooked, about 5 minutes.

1 teaspoon salt
2 bunches broccoli (about 3 pounds), stems removed, cut into florets
6 thick-sliced bacon strips, chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
6 to 8 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Fill a 6-qt. stockpot two-thirds full with water; add salt and bring to a boil over high heat. In batches, add broccoli and cook until broccoli turns bright green, 2-3 minutes; remove with a slotted spoon., In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp, stirring occasionally. 250g long-stem or purple sprouting broccoli
1 garlic clove
small knob ginger , peeled
small bunch coriander , stems and leaves separated
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tsp sesame seed
handful basil leaves

Steps:

  • Steam the broccoli or simply boil it for 3 mins. Make a rough paste by pounding or blending the garlic, ginger and coriander stems together.
  • Pour the oil into a hot wok or frying pan. Add the paste, then turn up the heat to full and sizzle for 1 min. Tip in the cooked broccoli, toss well and sprinkle over the sesame seeds. Turn off the heat, throw in the coriander and basil leaves, give it a stir and serve.
