Time 5h45m

Number Of Ingredients 2

1/2 lb raw beef liver *see notes
water for rinsing

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 350 2. Remove the liver from the package and rinse it with water. Tap water is fine. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut the liver into pieces approximately 1.5 - 2" in size. 3. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and roast for 30 minutes. 4. When the roasting time is up, reduce the temperature on your stove to the lowest it can possibly go. 190F or lower is ideal. (see notes). 5. Let the treats dehydrate for 3 - 5 hours. The treats will darken to almost a black color and become hard. 6. Store them in an airtight container in the fridge. (see notes!!)

ENERGY DOG BISCUITS (LIVER SNAPS)

Energy Dog Biscuits (Liver Snaps) image

These cookies contain high levels of protein in the liver, eggs, and peanut butter, so they'll be sure to add a boost of energy to your pet. My dogs absolutely loves these. The rascals even knocked them off the counter and ate the whole bowl full, they have never bothered ANYTHING on the counter before to include meat scraps. So if you make these make sure and secure they were the dogs can't get to them. LOL

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 pound(s) calf liver
1/4 cup(s) whole wheat flour
1 - egg

Steps:

  • 1 pound calf liver blended in food processor with 1/4 cup whole wheat flour and one egg
  • Spread on cookie sheet and cooked at 350 for 15 minutes
  • Cool and cut with pizza cutter. Store in refrigerator. I've made other liver brownie treats and they froze nicely. I do not know if freezing would make any difference when feeding this to a diabetic dog. Please see the Notes section above to see the site I got this recipe from.
