WINE AND LILLET COCKTAIL
3 ounces (6 tablespoons) Lillet Blanc, very cold
3 ounces (6 tablespoons) Sancerre wine, very cold
1 (2-inch by 1/2-inch) strip orange peel, white pith removed
Ice
1 white peach, sliced, for garnish
LILLET AND CRANBERRY
1 orange, cut into wedges
2 cups cranberry juice
1 liter seltzer (if you prefer, it doesn't need)
4 ounces lillet blanc
1/4 cup sugar (if needed, lillet is sweet)

Steps:

  • WINE AND LILLET COCKTAIL Combine the very cold Lillet Blanc and Sancerre in a large chilled wine goblet. Flame the orange rind over the glass. Cook's Note: Squeeze the rind next to a match and the oil will spray out and ignite. That burnt residue of orange oil will flavor the cocktail. Drop the rind into the glass. Add ice and garnish with peach slices. LILLET AND CRANBERRY In a pitcher add orange wedges and sugar. Muddle until all of the juice has been extracted from the oranges. Add the cranberry juice and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Stir in the seltzer and lillet, and pour into glasses filled with ice.
