INCREDIBLE SOFT DINNER ROLLS (ABM)



Incredible Soft Dinner Rolls (ABM) image

Made these for our Thanksgiving dinner and they are awesome! Very light and tasty and the dough is so easy to handle.

Time 22m

Yield 20 rolls

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup warm water
2 tablespoons soft butter
1 egg
3 1/4 cups bread flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons active dry yeast

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in bread machine in the order according to manufacturers directions.
  • Select dough cycle.
  • When cycle is complete, remove dough from pan.
  • Cover and let rest for 10 minutes on lightly floured surface.
  • Grease a large cookie sheet.
  • Divide dough into four parts, then cut each part into 5 pieces.
  • Shape each piece into a ball and place 2" apart on cookie sheet.
  • Cover and let rise for 30 minutes or until double in size.
  • Heat oven to 375° and bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and brush tops with melted butter.
  • Serve warm or cool on wire rack.
  • Notes: Do not use delay cycle on your bread machine.
  • For rolls with soft sides, place rolls close together on cookie sheet and let rise.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup milk
2 eggs
1/2 cup soft butter
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
4 cups bread flour
2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast

Steps:

  • Add all ingredients to bread machine according to your manufacturer's directions.
  • Set for dough cycle.
  • When cycle is complete, remove dough and shape as desired.
  • Place on lightly greased baking sheet and cover with plastic wrap.
  • Let rise until doubled (this step is important - don't rush it).
  • Bake at 375° for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • To keep them soft, brush with melted butter immediately after removing from oven.

This is one of my BEST EVER recipes. These rolls are much anticipated at potlucks and birthday dinners. Cook time includes bread machine and rising time.

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 cup milk
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons butter
1 egg
4 cups bread flour
1/2 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons garlic salt
1 teaspoon italian seasoning
3 teaspoons yeast
1/2 cup butter
parmesan cheese (lots for dipping)

Steps:

  • Heat milk, water, and 2 Tbs. butter to 120 degrees(F).
  • Place in bread machine with the egg. (This order works for my machine. Yours may be different.).
  • Add the flour, 1/2 cup Parmesan, sugar, garlic salt, Italian seasoning, and yeast.
  • Place on dough setting for a 2 pound loaf.
  • Preheat oven to 325°F and use a lower rack setting.
  • Cut dough into 24 pieces and roll into misshapen balls. (This is for more character and variety of texture!) :).
  • Melt your butter but make sure it is not too hot.
  • Dip rolls into butter and then into Parmesan.
  • Place in a 13x9" pan 6 rows of 4 rolls each. Let rise.
  • Bake on a low rack for 25-35 minutes or until as brown as you like them.

This makes fairly large rolls that can be served with dinner or as sandwiches. Easy recipe and leftover rolls can be frozen for later use.

Number Of Ingredients 8

3 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 1/4 cups milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup shortening
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg
2 tablespoons butter, melted

Steps:

  • Add all ingredients EXCEPT melted butter to bread machine in order as directed by manufacturer.
  • Set for dough cycle.
  • Check dough after a few minutes and if needed add a little more milk or water to make a smooth dough.
  • When dough cycle is complete, remove dough, punch down and let rest for ten minutes.
  • Lightly grease 13 x 9 glass baking dish.
  • Divide dough into 18 pieces and place in pan.
  • Dough will be sticky, so don't try to roll smooth balls.
  • The rolls will smooth out when they rise and are baked.
  • Let rise in warm place for 30 to 40 minutes until doubled.
  • Drizzle melted butter over top of rolls and bake at 400° for 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown.

This recipe is so easy to make and they are so good! I usually make up a batch to keep in the freezer. It's nice to be able to pull out a few at a time and micro for a quick addition to any meal! Hope you like them, too!(Prep time does not include dough time in ABM)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/3 cup water
3 large eggs
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, cut up
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 1/2 cups bread flour
2 teaspoons bread machine yeast
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1 tablespoon sugar

Steps:

  • Add all but last 2 ingredients to machine in order reccommended by the manufacturer and select dough cycle.
  • When complete, transfer dough to lightly floured surface and knead (if necessary) until easy to handle.
  • Shape into rolls as desired (I keep dividing into halves until I have sixteen pieces and then I divide each into 3 pieces for cloverleaf rolls and put in a muffin tin).
  • Cover and let rise until doubled; 20-30 minutes.
  • Combine egg and sugar, brush on top.
  • Bake at 375F for 12-14 minutes or until done.
  • Enjoy!
