1 cup good-quality fresh plain yogurt
7/8 cup water
3 tablespoons sugar
2 -3 teaspoons lemon juice
1 small lemon, zest of
ice cube
2 sprigs of fresh mint

Steps:

  • In a blender, blend together the yoghurt, water, sugar, lemon juice and zest until light and frothy.
  • Taste and adjust the sugar and lemon to your liking.
  • To serve, pour into a tall glass filled with ice cubes and mint.

2 cups curd ((Plain yogurt))
½ to 1 cup water ((or 2 to 3 ice cubes + ¼ cup milk or cream adjust as needed))
3 to 4 tablespoon sugar ((or maple syrup, adjust to taste))
¼ to ½ teaspoon cardamom powder ((ground cardamoms, elaichi powder))
1 teaspoon rose water ((optional))
1 pinch saffron strands ((Kesar) optional)
1 tablespoon chopped nuts (for garnish, optional)
½ teaspoon roasted cumin powder ((roasted jeera powder))
¼ to ½ teaspoon salt ((use as needed))
2 pinches chaat masala ((for garnish, optional))
½ to ¾ cup mint or pudina ((use as needed))
½ teaspoon cumin powder (or roasted jeera powder)
⅛ teaspoon chaat masala ((optional))
2 tablespoon lemon juice ((use as needed))
1 tablespoon sugar ((optional))
¼ to ½ teaspoon salt ((or as needed))
¼ green chili deseeded ((optional))

Steps:

  • Chill the curd and water in the refrigerator. If you want to use saffron, soak it in 2 tbsps hot milk and let it rest for sometime.
  • Add curd to a large bowl. Whisk it well to break up lumps & make it smooth.

3 cups vanilla flavored custard style, low fat or nonfat yogurt
1 cup coconut milk, found on drink mix aisle of market
14 ice cubes
1 cup crushed pineapple
1 ripe banana, peeled and cut into chunks
1-inch fresh ginger root, grated
2 large stem strawberries, garnish

Steps:

  • Combine yogurt, coconut milk, ice cubes, pineapple, banana and grated ginger in a blender and blend until smooth and frothy. Serve in tall glasses and garnish with a large stem strawberry.
