LEMON BAKED BEEFSTEAK
Had to share this one. Easy to put together. Easy to convert to a slow cooker. An oldie but a goody from the Farm Journal Country Cookbook 1959. Barbecue flavors with an enticing aroma.

Steps:
- Wipe steak with a damp cloth; place in a large baking dish.
- Rub with softened butter. Season with salt and pepper. Cover with lemon and onion slices.
- Combine ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and water, and pour over steak.
- Cover tightly so meat will steam tender. (Foil makes a snug lid).
- Bake at 350°F for about 2 hours or until tender. Can also be cooked in a slow cooker for 4-6 hours on high or 8 hours on low.

OVEN-BAKED STEAK WITH MUSTARD SAUCE
For any of you that are beef lovers, this is an amazing recipe for beef steak! Just make certain to tell your butcher to cut the sirloin to 2-1/2 inch thickness for this recipe. This steak is broiled then baked in the oven in a savory sauce, served topped with delicious mustard sauce, If desired you can just omit the mustard sauce, the steak is really wonderful without it also! The mustard sauce can be prepared hours in advance and refrigerated, then warmed in the microwave when ready to use. This recipe serves two people easily, but can be doubled if desired, just double all ingredients and prepare the with the same method...This is wonderful served with baked potatoes...you will love this!

- To make the mustard sauce: In a small/medium saucepan, melt the butter and mix with BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard powder (do not add in the cream as yet).
- Heat over medium heat for a couple of minutes.
- Remove from heat; stir in the cream.
- Heat again.
- Serve over the cooked steak.
- For the steak: turn oven to broil setting.
- Set oven rack to under the broiler heat.
- Season steak with black pepper on both sides.
- Broil the steak on both sides a couple of minutes to brown under the broiler in a broiler pan with higher sides.
- Remove and drain off the fat.
- Mix together the onion, ketchup, butter, lemon juice and chopped green pepper.
- pour over the steak in the pan.
- Set oven to 400 degrees.
- Bake for about 30 minutes.
- Remove to a warm platter or serving dish.
- Serve with the mustard sauce.
BREADED BEEF LEMON STEAKS
Was Single and had company coming for dinner and didn't want to go to the store all I had was a rump roast and a whole chicken, so sliced the rump roast thin(little bit thicker then a slice of bolonga. and soaked, breaded and fried ,I even surprised myself, they were great & very tender tender

- 1. Take sliced steaks and lightly pound each side,and place in evaporated milk making sure meat is covered with milk.Refrigerate 4 hours to overnight covered tightly,
- 2. When ready to cook,remove each slice and bread thickly in Italian bread crumbs.set aside
- 3. Add oil of choice in pan heating oil,place steaks in pan and cook till golden brown,remove from pan. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over steaks,and serve with sliced lemon, can keep slices warm in 200' oven

- Brush grill rack with vegetable oil. Heat coals or gas grill for direct heat.
- Trim fat on beef steaks to 1/2-inch thickness if necessary. Sprinkle garlic salt over beef. In small bowl, mix butter, basil and lemon-pepper seasoning; brush over beef and bell pepper halves.
- Cover and grill beef and bell peppers over medium heat 12 to 16 minutes, turning once, for medium beef doneness. Brush tops of steaks with butter mixture. Cut bell peppers into strips; serve over beef.
