KORI'S WHOLE WHEAT COOKIES

My friend wanted a less sweet cookie, and this is what I came up with for her. Sweet, but not too sweet.

Yield 18

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup butter
1 ½ cups white sugar
3 eggs
3 cups sifted whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Mix in the eggs. Stir together the flour and baking powder. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix until blended. Stir in milk and vanilla. Cover and chill dough for 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Roll dough into 1 inch balls, place 1 to 2 inches apart on an unprepared cookie sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove to cool on wire racks.

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup honey
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup nonfat dry milk powder
1/2 cup toasted wheat germ
1 teaspoon baking soda

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream the butter, peanut butter and honey. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine the dry ingredients; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. , Drop by teaspoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Flatten with a fork dipped in sugar. , Bake at 350° for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool on pans for 1 minute before removing to wire racks to cool completely.

3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
2 cups Gold Medal™ whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 package (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips (2 cups)

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F.
  • Mix sugars, butter, vanilla and egg in large bowl. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt (dough will be stiff). Stir in chocolate chips. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown (centers will be soft). Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack.
