EASY KIELBASA SKILLET DINNER

Easy Kielbasa Skillet Dinner image

The house always smells awesome while this very tasty, filling meal is cooking. It makes kielbasa worth stocking up on when it goes on sale and uses basic/cheap ingredients overall. Vary the vegetables depending on what you have on hand. For example add/replace broccoli with a can of corn and/or peas, etc. If you like a little heat, sprinkle a little hot sauce on top after it's cooked. This should make about 4 servings, but it almost always turns out to be split into 2 large servings between the me and the boyfriend. We like to crisp up/brown the kielbasa slightly before adding the vegetables.

ZESTY KIELBASA STIR-FRY

Zesty Kielbasa Stir-Fry image

I made up this recipe because I had cabbage and broccoli slaw and kielbasa that needed to be cooked up. I just finished cooking it for the first time and Wow! I loved it, my DH loved it, even the kids all loved it and ate up every bite. Hint: do all your cutting up before you begin to cook. Great served with rice.

Time 33m

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 13

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 pinch red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons prepared brown mustard
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 lb polska kielbasa, cut in half and then sliced thin
1 onion, sliced
1 green onion, sliced
4 carrots, cut into matchsticks
1/4 cup water
1/2 head cabbage, chopped
6 ounces broccoli slaw mix (1/2 a bag)

Steps:

  • Heat up a large frying pan or wok on med-high heat.
  • Add garlic powder, paprika, turmeric, and red pepper flakes to dry pan. Stir, let the spices heat up in the dry pan for about 1 minute. This releases the aromatic oils and helps the spices to blend.
  • To the spices add olive oil, kielbasa, both onions, and the carrots. Stir to combine and cook 5-7 minutes, or until carrot begins to get tender.
  • Add prepared mustard, water, cabbage, and broccoli slaw. Stir fry until cabbage is crisp-tender, about 5 minutes.

JENNY'S KIELBASA NOODLE STIR FRY

Jenny's Kielbasa Noodle Stir Fry image

This is one of my mother's one pot meals. The combination of rich, salty kielbasa with a light Asian-inspired noodle stir fry is just delicious! Adjust amounts to suit your preferences; personally, I love lots of veggies. Some cooks may prefer to use 2 links of kielbasa (it's so delicious I can't blame you!). Use turkey kielbasa to cut some calories. Prep time will vary depending on whether you chop your veggies or buy them sliced.

KIELBASA STIR FRY

Kielbasa Stir Fry image

For some reason, I was craving this one evening even though I had never had it before. I decided to try it and the family declared it a winner. I use Hillshire Farm's Turkey Polish Kielbasa, but I'm sure any kind will work.

KIELBASA STIR-FRY

My father used to make this recipe, it is very tasty and very easy. If you would like a smaller serving size just use less of everything, like only a half of a head of broccoli. The vegetables definitely add up!! This recipe is great and fun to work with.

HAWAIIAN SAUSAGE SKILLET

Hawaiian Sausage Skillet image

I made this up one day when I couldn't find a recipe anywhere with these ingredients. So I kind of threw it together on a whim. Sugar can be adjusted for sweetness, and if the sauce gets a bit thicker than desired I suggest adding a little chicken broth as it's thickening. Serve immediately over rice.
