6 cups cabbage, shredded
1 cup carrot, shredded fine
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup milk
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
3 drops hot pepper sauce
3 tablespoons instant minced onion

Steps:

  • Combine cabbage, carrots, sugar, salt and pepper.
  • Pour milk over and chill for 30 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, mix remaining ingredients.
  • Once cabbage mixture is chilled, combine with mayo mixture.
  • Chill in fridge until ready to serve.

I've made a lot of slaws, but this slaw is best in my book! There are several versions of this recipe posted, but what is one more? I made this one for Easter and everyone wanted the recipe. Enjoy!

4 c shredded cabbage
1 medium carrot grated
1/2 c mayo
1/4 c milk
1/4 c buttermilk
1/3 c sugar
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp fresh ground black pepper
1/4 medium sweet onion minced
1 1/2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 1/2 Tbsp lemon juice

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all vegetables in a large mixing bowl. In a med bowl, whisk together mayo, milks, sugar, Vinegar, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Pour dressing over vegetables and stir until coated evenly. Cover the bowl and place in refrigerator for at least 4 hours, best overnight. Stir right before serving.
