HOLIDAY HORSERADISH DEVILED EGGS



Holiday Horseradish Deviled Eggs image

4 slices bacon
6 eggs
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
Pinch salt
Pinch cracked black pepper
2 tablespoons thinly sliced scallion greens

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Put the bacon on a sheet tray lined with a wire rack and bake until crisp, about 18 to 22 minutes Remove the bacon from oven, allow to cool and then crumble.
  • Put the eggs in a small saucepan and cover them with salted water. Bring the water to a boil over medium heat, then cover, and remove the saucepan from the heat. Allow the eggs to sit for 10 minutes. Remove eggs from pan and shock in ice water. Peel the eggs and cut in half. Remove the yolks to a medium-sized bowl. Add the mayonnaise, cayenne, mustard, horseradish, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy. Put the mixture into a piping bag. Arrange the egg whites on a serving platter. Pipe a heaping tablespoon of the egg yolk mixture into each of the egg whites. Sprinkle each egg with some bacon and scallions. Serve.

12 eggs, hard-boiled halved lengthwise
3/4 cup mayonnaise
4 tablespoons horseradish
1 teaspoon dill, fresh
1 teaspoon mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt, to taste
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
paprika (to garnish)

Steps:

  • Place yolks in a food processor. Add mayonnaise, horseradish, dill mustard, salt and pepper. Mix until smooth. If mixing by hand, itis easier to mash up yolks frist before adding the other ingredients.
  • Put mixture into a sandwich bag with the corner cut off. Pipe yold mixture into the egg halves. Sprinkle wit paprika.

Number Of Ingredients 9

6 hard-cooked eggs, peeled and cut lengthwise
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 1/2 tablespoons finely chopped onions (Vidalia is nice)
2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
1 -2 teaspoon horseradish, well drained (more or less to your taste)
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
paprika (to garnish)

Steps:

  • Pop out (remove) the egg yolks to a small bowl and mash with a fork. Add the mayonnaise, onion, relish, horseradish, dijon mustard, salt and pepper and mix thoroughly. Fill the empty egg white shells with the mixture and sprinkle lightly with paprika.
  • Cover lightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to one day before serving.

½ cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
2 teaspoons chopped fresh dill
½ teaspoon dry mustard
¼ teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil; remove from heat and let eggs stand in hot water for 15 minutes. Remove eggs and cool under cold running water; peel eggs.
