Cheesy garlic bread is so simple to make with loads of cheese and that soft bread on the inside with the crunchy crust on the outside. This is a family favorite for sure!

1 Loaf French bread
1/2 cup salted butter (softened)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
3 garlic cloves minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 cup Colby jack cheese (shredded)
1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
fresh chopped parsley for garnish

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cut your French bread loaf lengthwise and place on top of a baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl combine softened butter, garlic powder, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning. Spread evenly on each side of the garlic bread. Top with Colby Jack and mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes until butter is melted an bubbly. You can also broil the top for 1-2 minutes at the end to give it a more crisp top.
  • Garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired.

People are astounded to learn I make this savory Italian bread from scratch in less that an hour. With this recipe from my brother-in-law, warm slices are a delicious and easy alternative to garlic toast. I'll sometimes use this bread as a snack or appetizer.

Number Of Ingredients 15

2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon quick-rise yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup warm water (120° to 130°)
1 tablespoon canola oil
TOPPING:
1/4 to 1/3 cup prepared Italian salad dressing
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
Dash pepper
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine 2 cups flour, yeast, sugar and salt. Beat in water and oil until blended. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough., Turn onto a floured surface; knead for 1-2 minutes or until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 20 minutes. , Punch dough down; place on a greased 12-in. pizza pan and pat into a 12-in. circle. Brush with salad dressing. Combine the seasonings; sprinkle over top. Sprinkle with cheeses. , Bake at 450° for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.

I saw a recipe on another website which stimulated my imagination and I made this new creation instead. It was super easy and quick. But the best thing is that it is also delicious!

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/2 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese (you can use the green stuff if you want but fresh is better!)
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon black pepper, divided
2 chicken breast halves
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons butter

Steps:

  • Blend the bread crumbs & the cheese together with 1/2 of the teaspoon of black pepper and set aside.
  • Beat the eggs together and add the other 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper.
  • Split each breast in half width wise so that you will have 4 thin pieces of chicken.
  • Heat the olive oil and the butter in a large skillet until medium hot.
  • Dip each piece of chicken into the egg mixture then into the breading mixture, being sure to put as much breading as possible on each side -- patting helps.
  • Place the chicken in the skillet.
  • Brown well on both sides, cooking time is a approximate depends on size of meat.
  • Drain on Paper Towels & Enjoy.
  • Because the chicken pieces are thin they will cook quickly and be done in a very short time.

Dough:
1 cup warm water
1 tbsp yeast
1.5 tbsp sugar
2 3/4 cups bread flour
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
Other Ingredients:
6 tablespoons of butter (softened)
1/2 tbsp minced garlic cloves (you could use garlic powder)
1.5 cups pizza cheese
Italian Seasoning or Italian Seasoning Blend (see below)

Steps:

  • In a large bowl or stand mixer, mix together water, yeast, sugar.
  • Add in flour and salt.
  • Mix with a dough hook until it comes away from the sides of the bowl - add more flour if necessary.
  • Knead by hand or with dough hook for about five minutes.
  • Cover the dough ball with oil, place in a bowl, cover with plastic, and let rise at room temperature 30-45 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  • Grease 9×13 glass baking dish with butter
  • Press the dough into the pan
  • Spread the softened butter over the top of the dough
  • Spoon the minced garlic evenly over the top of the butter to make the garlic butter topping.
  • Sprinkle cheese over the top
  • Sprinkle Italian seasoning over the top
  • Cover with tin foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Remove tin foil and bake for another 10 minutes.

½ teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste

  • Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water in a bowl. Let stand until the yeast softens and begins to form a creamy foam, about 5 minutes.
