This recipe is from Dakota Kelly- sounds Irish to me! This is a grand recipe and I want to share it with you. It's very carmely and buttery I added a little whipped cream and chopped pecans on top of the bananas too! What a treat....

4 l bananas,peeled and halved lengthwise
1/2 c irish whiskey
1/2 c butter
1/2 c light brown sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat, stir in brown sugar and whiskey. Bring to a boil and cool until sugar dissolves. Add bananas and simmer until bananas are tender and glazed with the syrup. Serve over ice cream and top with whipped cream and chopped nuts, if desired.

½ cup packed light brown sugar
½ cup Irish whiskey
4 large bananas, peeled and halved lengthwise

Steps:

  • Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar and whiskey. Bring to a boil and cook until sugar has dissolved. Add bananas to the skillet and simmer gently until bananas are tender and glazed with the syrup. Serve immediately with vanilla ice cream.

Slow Cooker Irish Oatmeal with Bananas and Berries image

1 1/2 cups steel-cut oats
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 medium-size ripe bananas, mashed, plus more for topping
Fresh berries, for topping

Steps:

  • Combine the oats, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon and bananas with 5 1/2 cups water in the slow cooker. Stir to mix evenly.
  • Cover with a lid and cook on low until the oats soften, 6 to 8 hours. Before serving, remove the lid and let the oatmeal cool slightly before stirring. Adjust seasonings, as needed.
  • Serve in bowls topped with fresh berries and banana slices.
