Rujak Buah, an Indonesian fruit salad, a scrumptious mix of spicy, sweet, salty, tangy, & crunchy textures all at once! This fruity & colorful salad is gluten-free and perfect for a crowd.

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 cucumber
1 apple
1 medium sweet potato
1 peeled mango
1 small peeled pineapple
1 peeled jicama
100 g roasted peanuts
100 g palm sugar
1 red chili pepper
Pinch of salt
1/4 tsp shrimp paste (optional)
50 ml water

Steps:

  • Cut the salad fruit into slices.
  • With a mortar and pestle, grind the sauce ingredients until it is a smooth sauce.
  • Pour the sauce over the sliced fruits and toss well.

5 pcs bird eye chili
3 tbsp fried peanut, roughly chopped (can be skipped)
100 gr palm sugar
3 tbsp water
1/2 tbsp tamarind paste
a pinch of salt

Steps:

  • In pestle and mortar or food processor, crush the bird eye chili first.
  • Add and blend with palm sugar, water, tamarind paste and salt. The mixture will be thick and gooey.
  • Mix in chopped peanut.
  • Serve with sliced fruits of your choice.

2 tablespoons peanut butter
1 teaspoon vinegar
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons red peppers
4 cups shredded carrots, apples, pears and cucumbers

Steps:

  • Combine the honey, peanut butter, vinegar,salt and pepper and stir until well mixed.
  • last add the shredded vegetables and fruit.
  • mix again so that the flavours blend.
  • refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  • serve chilled.
  • does not include the1 hour chilling time.
