These pecans aren't too hot, but you can leave out the red pepper if you like them milder, or increase it to taste. These make a great snack or appetizer for the holidays, or anytime.

2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
¼ teaspoon ground red pepper
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
2 cups pecan halves
1 tablespoon chili powder

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
  • In a medium bowl, mix butter, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper, salt, and garlic powder. Stir in the pecans, and gently toss with chili powder to coat.
  • Spread coated pecans on a medium baking sheet, and cook 30 minutes in the preheated oven, stirring approximately every 10 minutes.

¼ cup butter
1 ½ teaspoons ground cumin
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
3 cups pecan halves
2 tablespoons granular no-calorie sucralose sweetener (such as Splenda®)
1 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Stir cumin and cayenne pepper into the butter until dissolved, about 1 minute. Remove skillet from heat and immediately stir pecans, sucralose sweetener, and salt into the butter mixture to coat the nuts completely. Spread coated nuts onto a baking sheet.
  • Bake pecans in preheated oven until lightly browned, stirring occasionally, 25 to 30 minutes.

1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

  • Take pot off stove. Add pecans. Stir about 5 minutes until well coated.

Spicy Toasted Pecans image

These little bits of yumminess go great over salads, or all along for a snack! So easy and so tasty! I've even added them to my Chex Mix or other party mixes.

3 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups pecan halves

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Melt 3 tablespoons butter in a medium saucepan and add the remaining ingredients one at a time.
  • Add pecans last.
  • Spread out pecans on foil lined cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes per batch.
  • Cool. These are good warm, but better later.

1 tablespoon coarse salt
2 tablespoons cayenne pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
1/2 cup sugar
2 large egg whites
5 cups (20 ounces) pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Line 2 rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper. In a bowl, combine salt, cayenne pepper, paprika, and sugar.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk egg whites until foamy. Whisk in spice mixture. Stir in pecans. Spread coated pecans in a single layer onto the baking sheets. Bake for about 15 minutes, then reduce oven temperature to 250 degrees. Rotate the sheets in oven, and cook for 10 minutes more.
  • Immediately spread pecans in a single layer on clean parchment paper; let cool before serving or storing.
