This recipe is very healthy. I won with this recipe in the Carbon county Fair in Pennsylvania. I not only won a blue ribbon, but i also won a Hershey ribbon and went to Harrisburg................and i was only 11!!!!!! now im 12 lol

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 c firmly packed brown sugar
1 c peanut butter
1/2 c light corn syrup
1/2 c margarine melted
2 tsp vanilla
3 c quick cooking oats
1/2 c coconut
1/2 c shelled sunflower seeds
1/2 c raisins
1 c wheat germ
2 Tbsp sesame seeds
1 c hershey's semi-sweet mini chocolate chips

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13-inch by 9-inch pan. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients, mix well. Press evenly into greased pan.
  • 2. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool completely. Cut into 24 bars. Can be frozen for future use

Extra chewy granola bars. You can make them your own by picking different ingredients to add in! Try using any combination of miniature chocolate chips, sunflower seeds, raisins, chopped dried fruits, candy-coated chocolate pieces, chopped nuts, etc.

4 ½ cups rolled oats
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
⅔ cup butter, softened
½ cup honey
⅓ cup packed brown sugar
2 cups miniature semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease one 9x13 inch pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl combine the oats, flour, baking soda, vanilla, butter or margarine, honey and brown sugar. Stir in the 2 cups assorted chocolate chips, raisins, nuts etc.
  • Lightly press mixture into the prepared pan. Bake at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 18 to 22 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 10 minutes then cut into bars. Let bars cool completely in pan before removing or serving.

1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup corn syrup
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
1/4 cup sunflower kernels
1/4 cup raisins
3 tablespoons toasted wheat germ
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, peanut butter, corn syrup, butter and vanilla. Stir in the oats, sunflower kernels, raisins, wheat germ and sesame seeds. Fold in chocolate chips., Press into an 8-in. square baking dish coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350° for 15-20 minutes or until set and edges are browned. Cool completely on a wire rack. Cut into bars.
