1 1/4 lb ground beef
1/3 c chopped onion
1/4 c chopped green pepper
1/4 tsp each.garlic salt & salt
8 oz tomato sauce
1 can(s) cut green beans,drained
1 tube crescent rolls
1 egg,slightly beaten
2 c shredded moterey jack cheese
paprika

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 375,in a large skillet,brown beef,green pepper and onion;drain.Add garlic salt,salt tomato sauce and green beans,simmer.
  • 2. Separate dough into 8 triangles,place on an ungreased 9in. pie plate.Press firmly over bottom and up sides,sealing perforations.
  • 3. In a small bowl,combine the egg and 1 cup of cheese.Spread over the bottom of crust.Spoon hot meat mixture over cheese.Sprinkle with remaining cheese and a dash of paprika.
  • 4. Bake for 20 min.or until crust is golden brown.Let stand for 5 min.

Easy hamburger pie with a twist. The cheese coated flaky crust is light.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 1/4 lb ground beef
1/3 c onion
1/4 c green pepper, chopped
8 oz green beans, drained
1/2 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp garlic salt
1/4-1/2 tsp salt
8 oz refrigerated crescent rolls
1 large egg
8 oz cheddar cheese, shredded or monterey jack
8 oz tomato sauce

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • 2. In large fry pan brown ground beef, onion and green pepper. Drain.
  • 3. Put ground beef mixture back in pan and stir in tomato sauce, green beans, cumin, garlic salt and salt. Simmer while preparing crust.
  • 4. Separate rolls into 8 triangles. Place in 9 inch pie dish. Press over bottom and sides to form a crust.
  • 5. Combine 1 egg with 1 cup of cheese and spread over crust. ( Sides and bottom).
  • 6. Spoon hot meat mixture into crust. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and paprika.
  • 7. Bake for 20-25 minutes. For easier serving let stand for 5 minutes.
