2 pounds ground beef
1 onion, chopped
2 cups sour cream
2 cups canned whole kernel corn, drained
1 (10.75 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 (10.75 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
1 (6 ounce) package egg noodles
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 (32 ounce) bag shredded Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • Cook and stir beef and onion together in a large skillet over medium-high heat until the beef is browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes; drain and discard grease.
  • Stir ground beef mixture, sour cream, corn, mushroom soup, chicken soup, and egg noodles together in a large bowl; season with salt and pepper and spread the mixture into a 13x8-inch baking dish.
  • Bake in preheated oven until the egg noodles are tender, about 45 minutes. Sprinkle cheese over the top of the casserole and continue baking until the cheese is melted, 10 to 15 minutes more.

5 cups uncooked egg noodles
1-1/2 pounds lean ground beef (90% lean)
2 garlic cloves, minced
3 cans (8 ounces each) tomato sauce
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 package (8 ounces) reduced-fat cream cheese
1 cup reduced-fat ricotta cheese
1/4 cup reduced-fat sour cream
3 green onions, thinly sliced, divided
2/3 cup shredded reduced-fat cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Cook noodles according to package directions. , Meanwhile, in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, cook beef until no longer pink. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Drain. Stir in tomato sauce, sugar, salt and pepper; heat through. Drain noodles; stir into beef mixture., In a small bowl, beat cream cheese, ricotta cheese and sour cream until blended. Stir in half of the onions., Spoon half the noodle mixture into a 13x9-in. baking dish coated with cooking spray. Top with cheese mixture and remaining noodle mixture., Cover and bake 30 minutes. I found this recipe on BetterRecipes.com and recently made it. I changed a few ingredients and also the quantity of noodles it called for to suit my taste. I prefer more of a wet casserole so I used less noodles but you can add or subtract as suits you best.

1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
16 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can tomato soup
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 (10 ounce) bag egg noodles
2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Brown the ground beef in a frying pan with the chopped onion.
  • In large pot boil the egg noodles until tender, drain.
  • Combine the ground beef mixture, noodles, soups and cheddar cheese.
  • Place mixture in a 9x13 baking dish sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Top with parmesan and mozzarella cheeses.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until bubbly.

2 tablespoons butter
1 lb ground beef
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon sugar
2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
1 (8 ounce) package noodles
6 scallions, chopped
1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Combine first six ingredients and saute until meat is done.
  • Add tomato sauce and simmer 20 minutes.
  • Cook noodles according to pkg.
  • directions.
  • Blend cream cheese and sour cream together; add scallions to cream cheese mixture.
  • In a slightly greased casserole, place 1/3 of the noodles, then 1/3 of scallion mixture, then 1/3 of the meat sauce; continue this two more times.
  • Top casserole with the shredded cheese and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until thoroughly heated.

2 lbs ground sirloin or chuck
2 cans tomato soup
2 cans (16 oz) stewed tomatoes (chop up and keep in juice)
16 slices American cheese
2 medium onions
1 medium green pepper
2 cloves garlic
12 oz bag of curly noodles.

Steps:

  • Boil noodles. Finely chop onion, pepper and garlic. Saute in butter. Add hamburger to brown. When brown, remove grease. Add chopped stewed tomatoes and juice, add soup. Season with salt and pepper. Add 5 shakes of garlic powder. Mix well, tear about half of the pieces of cheese into small pieces and mix until melted. Add noodles. Layer remaining cheese on top. Cook at 325 for 45 minutes.

This is a recipe that my mom made frequently when we were growing up. This is "comfort food" at it's best and is also economical and fast to fix. The amounts can be increased to feed a crowd or decreased to serve your family. I like to make it as written so that I have leftovers the next day.

1 small onion, chopped
1 teaspoon seasoning salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 (26 ounce) can chicken noodle soup
1 (26 ounce) can water, use soup can
3 cups instant rice (minute)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Spray 5 quart, oven proof dutch oven with non-stick spray.
  • Crumble ground beef into dutch oven, add chopped onion and salt and pepper.
  • Brown ground beef and drain grease well.
  • Return ground beef to dutch oven.
  • Stir in soup, water and rice.
  • Cover and bake for 30 minutes.
  • May need to remove lid at end of baking time and bake for an additional 10 minutes to absorb liquid.
  • If doubling this recipe to serve a crowd, brown the beef and onion and seasoning, and place in large roaster sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Recipe as posted serves 8.
