Ham & Cheese Bow Ties image

This is like homemade mac and cheese, but made with fun bow tie pasta and hearty ham! This is a delicious small size recipe which can easily be doubled to serve more.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 cup (4 ounces/120g) uncooked bow tie pasta
2 TBS butter
1/4 tsp garlic paste (or 1 very small clove garlic crushed)
2 TBS plain all purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
1 cup (240ml) whole milk
1/4 tsp Dijon mustard
1 1/4 cups (150g) grated medium cheddar cheese
2 ounces (60g) diced cooked ham
2 TBS grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350*F/180*C/ gas mark 4. Butter a 2 cup shallow casserole dish. Set aside.
  • Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Drain well, rinse, drain again and then set aside.
  • Melt the butter until foaming in a saucepan. Add the garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Whisk in the flour until smooth. Whisk in the mustard. Cook for about a minute.
  • Slowly whisk in the milk. Cook, whisking constantly, over medium heat until the mixture comes to the boil. Simmer for several minutes, stirring constantly and then whisk in the cheddar. Season with the salt and pepper.
  • Stir the cooked pasta and ham into the sauce. Pour the mixture into the baking dish. Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over top.
  • Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until bubbling and golden brown.

4 cups uncooked bow tie pasta
6 cups frozen broccoli florets
4 cups cubed fully cooked ham
2 cartons (10 ounces each) refrigerated Alfredo sauce
2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
1 can (8 ounces) mushroom stems and pieces, drained

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to package directions, adding the broccoli during the last 5 minutes of cooking. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine the ham, Alfredo sauce, cheese and mushrooms. Drain pasta mixture; add to ham mixture and toss to coat. , Transfer to 2 greased 11x7-in. baking dishes. Cover and freeze one casserole for up to 3 months. Cover and bake remaining casserole at 375° for 20 minutes. Uncover; bake 5-10 minutes longer or until bubbly., To use frozen casserole: Thaw in the refrigerator overnight. Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before heating. Cover and microwave on high for 8-10 minutes or until heated through, stirring once.

1 pound bow-tie pasta (farfalle)
Coarse salt and ground pepper
3 tablespoons butter
1 onion, diced
10 ounces (2 cups) frozen peas
1 cup half-and-half
1/2 pound cooked ham
Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Steps:

  • Cook pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente, according to package instructions. Drain pasta; return to pot.
  • Meanwhile, heat butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add onion; cook, stirring, until soft, 3 to 4 minutes. Add peas and half-and-half; season with salt and pepper. Simmer until thickened, 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Cut ham into strips. Add to sauce; cook until heated through, 1 to 2 minutes. Toss sauce with pasta. Serve with grated Parmesan.

1/4 tsp. white pepper
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1 pkg. (7.5 oz.) OSCAR MAYER CARVING BOARD Slow Cooked Ham
1 cup frozen peas, thawed

Steps:

  • Cook pasta as directed on package, omitting salt.
  • Meanwhile, cook and stir milk, cream cheese, 1/3 cup Parmesan, butter, pepper and garlic powder in medium saucepan on medium-low heat until cream cheese is completely melted and mixture is well blended. Stir in ham and peas; cook 2 min. or until heated through.

8 ounces farfalle (bow tie) pasta
¼ cup butter
1 clove garlic, minced
¼ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cups milk
½ teaspoon prepared mustard
2 ½ cups shredded Colby cheese
4 ounces cooked ham, julienned
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

1 pound ham chunks
20 grape tomatoes, halved
½ cup diced yellow bell pepper

1 ½ cups mayonnaise
