1 package (16 ounces) bow tie pasta
1 package (16 ounces) bulk pork sausage
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1-1/2 cups half-and-half cream
3/4 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning
4 cups fresh spinach, lightly packed
3 tablespoons minced fresh basil

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain; return to pan. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until no longer pink, 4-6 minutes, breaking into crumbles; drain., In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour until smooth; gradually whisk in cream. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly; cook and stir until thickened, 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in cheese, salt and lemon pepper. Add cheese sauce, sausage and spinach to hot pasta; toss to combine. Sprinkle with basil.

8 ounces farfalle pasta (bow tie)
1/4 cup butter
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard
2 1/2 cups shredded colby cheese
4 ounces cooked ham, julienned
1/2 cup frozen baby peas (thawed)
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil and cook pasta for 8-10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  • In a large saucepan, melt butter and saute garlic for 2 minutes.
  • Whisk in flour, salt and pepper.
  • Cook until smooth.
  • Add milk gradually, stirring constantly.
  • Bring to a boil for 1 minute and then add mustard and Colby cheese.
  • Continue to heat until cheese is melted, stirring all the while.
  • Remove from heat, add ham, peas and pasta.
  • Mix.
  • Pour into a 2 quart baking dish.
  • Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and bread crumbs.
  • Bake for 20-30 minutes, until bubbly and golden.

I made up this recipe while trying to figure out a summer pasta salad to go with our kabobs that we were grilling. I threw in a little of this and a little of that and the family went nuts! To make this healthier, use fat-free mayonnaise and wheat pasta.

1 (16 ounce) package bow-tie pasta
1 pound ham chunks
20 grape tomatoes, halved
½ cup diced yellow bell pepper
½ cup diced red bell pepper
½ cup diced orange bell pepper
6 green onions, chopped
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 ½ teaspoons ground black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 ½ cups mayonnaise
¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
½ cup shredded Romano cheese

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook the bow-tie pasta at a boil, stirring occasionally, until cooked through yet firm to the bite, about 12 minutes; drain.

3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
2 teaspoons dry mustard
3 1/2 cups milk
3 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 lb cooked ham, cubed
11 ounces whole kernel corn, drained

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Cook pasta according to box directions.
  • In medium sauce pan over medium heat melt butter.
  • Stir in flour and mustard.
  • Gradually add milk; cook and stir until mixture bubbles.

1 cup dry white wine
1 cup whipping cream
1 cup shredded Asiago cheese
1 cup thinly sliced green onions

Steps:

  • Cook pasta in large pot of boiling salted water 10 minutes. Add asparagus; boil until crisp-tender and pasta is tender but still firm to bite, stirring occasionally, about 3 minutes longer. Drain pasta and asparagus in colander.
  • Meanwhile, heat large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ham and cook until just brown, stirring frequently, about 2 minutes. Add wine; boil until reduced by half, about 2 minutes.
