HAM & CHEESE BREAKFAST BAKE

Ham & Cheese Breakfast Bake image

I like finding a breakfast food that can be taken in the car and eaten without a mess. I also had some leftover cans of crescent rolls from our family Thanksgiving dinner. So this morning I combined those two elements, and came up with this dish.

Categories     Breakfast Casseroles

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 can(s) crescent rolls
6-8 oz thin sliced deli ham
1 1/2 c grated cheddar cheese
4 large eggs
2/3 c whole milk (or 1 small can evaporated milk)
1/2 tsp each salt and pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Unroll crescent rolls and press them in the bottom and up the sides of a 9 x 9-inch baking pan, pressing the seams together and making them cover the pan evenly.
  • 2. Lay out slices of deli ham on top of crust, using enough ham to make a double layer. Sprinkle with the grated cheese. Beat together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined. Pour carefully over cheese.
  • 3. Bake for 30 minutes until crust edges are browned and it puffs up, checking to be sure middle is done by testing with a thin-blade knife. Allow to set at least 10 minutes before slicing to serve.
