1 boneless fully cooked ham (3 pounds)
1 can (12 ounces) beer or nonalcoholic beer
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 teaspoons ground mustard

Steps:

  • Place ham on a rack in a shallow roasting pan. Score the surface of the ham, making diamond shapes 1/2 in. deep. Set aside 2 tablespoons beer. Pour remaining beer over the ham. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 1 hour., In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, vinegar, mustard and reserved beer; spread over ham. Bake 40-45 minutes longer or until a thermometer reads 140°, basting occasionally.

  • Remove 2 tablespoons of beer and set aside.
  • Make indents in ham and pour remaining beer over ham.
  • Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 1 hour.
  • In a bowl, combine the brown sugar, vinegar, mustard and reserved beer and spread over ham.
  • Bake 40-45 minutes longer or until a meat thermometer reads 140°, basting occasionally.

1/2 cup dry mustard
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup water
1 quart beer

Steps:

  • Score ham; stud top with cloves and bay leaves.
  • Make smooth paste of mustard, sugar and water; add additional water if necessary to produce prepared mustard consistency.
  • Spread over entire surface of ham in baking pan; pour in beer.
  • Bake, covered, in 400 degree oven for 2 hours.

4 -5 lbs ham
1 cup molasses or 1 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons dry mustard
1 tablespoon pepper
1 cup ale
18 -24 whole cloves
1 large onion, cut in four
1 carrot, cut in pieces
1 stalk celery, with leaves,chopped

Steps:

  • Use a sharp knife to remove the skin from the ham.
  • Score the fat diagonally and place a clove in each diamond.
  • Set the ham in the middle of a sheet of heavy-duty aluminium foil.
  • Place in a shallow dripping pan.
  • Mix the molasses or brown sugar, dry mustard, pepper and the ale.
  • Pour over the ham.
  • Scatter the veggies around the ham and bring the foil to the top.
  • Fold lightly and close the ends of the foil, sealing the ham inside.
  • Bake in a 400 F oven for 16-18 minutes per pound.

1 (4 lb) cured smoked ham
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
3/4 cup dark brown sugar
24 ounces barq root beer (two cans)
1 1/2 tablespoons tabasco caribbean style steak sauce
6 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 orange, juice and zest of
1/2 lemon, rind of

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Place the ham in a broiling pan and cut shallow gashes in a criss-cross pattern across the top half.
  • Combine the brown sugar and the dry mustard and pat it all over the ham.
  • Put the ham in the oven.
  • Combine all the other ingredients in a saucepan.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then lower to a simmer, and cook until the liquid volumne is reduced to about one cup.
  • Strain.
  • Spoon some of the glaze over the top of the ham.
  • Spoon more glaze, at 15-minute intervals, until it is all gone.
  • Continue baking until the ham reaches an internal temperature of 160-degrees on a meat thermometer.
  • Remove from oven and allow to rest for about one hour before carving.

3 cups root beer

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Plan ahead the ham needs to soak in the ginger-ale for at least 4 hours before cooking. Make certain to bake the ham 20 minutes per pound, all ingredients are for a 5 pound bone-in ham, if you are using a much larger ham then double the marinade ingredients.

1 (5 lb) ham, with bone-in
3 cups ginger ale, soda (do not use sugar-free or low-calorie, I just use 3 cans of ginger-ale)
12 whole cloves (or as needed)
1 cup molasses
1 -2 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons mustard powder
1 cup beer (any kind desired)

Steps:

  • Set oven to 325 degrees.
  • Using a sharp knife remove the tough top layer of skin from the ham.
  • Score the fat diagonally in a diamond shape pattern.
  • Soak the ham in the refrigerator in the ginger-ale for at least 4 hours to remove the salt, turning the ham occasionally if needed.
  • After the 4 hours discard the ginger-ale.
  • Stud the top of the ham with whole cloves.
  • Place a large piece of heavy-duty foil in the bottom of the roasting pan (large enough to wrap the ham tightly in).
  • Place the ham on top of the foil in roasting pan.
  • In a bowl mix together molasses, dry mustard, pepper and beer; pour over the ham.
  • Cover very tighty with the foil so the juices do not escape.
  • Bake the ham for 20 minutes a pound.
  • Remove the ham to a cutting board place a piece of foil over and let stand for 10 minutes before slicing.
  • Delicious!

2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 (8 pound) bone-in smoked ham

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Whisk beer, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard together in a bowl.
  • Place ham cut side up in a large roasting pan; pour beer mixture over ham.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until ham begins to brown, about 15 minutes, basting 4 to 5 times.
