6 large croissants
4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard (depending on how much mustard flavor you prefer)
1/2 pound thinly sliced ham
6 slices cheddar cheese (or Swiss cheese)

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Cover a large baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  • Split your croissants in half and place on the baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, mix together cream cheese and Dijon mustard. Spread some of the cream cheese mixture on one half of each croissant.
  • Layer sliced ham and sliced cheese on top of cream cheese mixture.
  • Top with the other half of the croissant.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes and serve immediately.

3 large croissants (5 inches)
1 package (8 oz) chopped cooked ham
1 1/4 cups shredded Swiss cheese (5 oz)
6 eggs
1 cup half-and-half
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon ground mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg, if desired

Steps:

  • Spray 10-inch glass deep-dish pie plate with cooking spray. Cut croissants in half lengthwise; cut each half into 5 pieces. Place pieces in pie plate. Sprinkle with ham and cheese.
  • In large bowl, beat eggs, half-and-half, honey, mustard, salt, pepper and nutmeg with whisk.
  • Pour egg mixture over ingredients in pie plate; press croissant pieces into egg mixture to moisten completely. Cover tightly with foil; refrigerate at least 8 hours but no longer than 24 hours.
  • Heat oven to 325°F. Bake casserole covered 35 minutes. Uncover; bake 25 to 30 minutes longer or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

I found this recipe on a grocery flyer a few years ago and it has become a favourite. Serve these sandwiches cold or warmed. Omit lettuce if heating.

2 croissants
2 teaspoons whole grain Dijon mustard
2 slices cooked ham
2 slices swiss cheese
2 leaves green leaf lettuce
2 tablespoons mango chutney

Steps:

  • To serve cold: Cut croissants in half horizontally.
  • Spread bottom halves with mustard. Top with ham, cheese and lettuce.
  • Spread chutney over cut sides of croissant tops and place on top.
  • Eat!
  • To serve warmed: Preheat oven to 375° (190°C).

2 cups chopped cooked ham (from deli)

4 oz Gruyère cheese, shredded (1 cup)
Chopped fresh chives, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray.

I cut this recipe from the "Southern Living Magazine 2009"..it is to die for. I used to make this all the time, and actually forgot about it, till looking through my cookbooks. It fell from my book as if to say, MAKE ME!!lol, thought I would share it here.

3 (5-inch) large croissants
1 (8-oz.) package chopped cooked ham
1 (5-oz.) package shredded swiss cheese
6 large eggs
1 c half-and-half
1 Tbsp dry mustard
1 Tbsp honey
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Cut croissants in half lengthwise, and cut each half into 4 to 5 pieces. Place croissant pieces in a lightly greased 10-inch deep-dish pie plate. Top with ham and cheese.
  • 2. Whisk together eggs, next 5 ingredients, and if desired, nutmeg in a large bowl.
  • 3. Pour egg mixture over mixture in pie plate, pressing croissants down to submerge in egg mixture. Cover tightly, and chill 8 to 24 hours.
  • 4. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Bake, covered 35 minutes. Uncover and bake 25 to 30 minutes or until browned and set. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. I have made this with crispy bacon and onion also..
