I worked for years in a school cafeteria and exchanged many recipes with co-workers. I'm happy to pass on this tasty, simple-to-prepare-dish.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1/4 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Pinch pepper
2 packages (10 ounces each) frozen broccoli cuts
2 cups cubed fully cooked ham
1 can (6 ounces) french-fried onions, divided
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the soup, milk, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and pepper; spoon half into a skillet. Top with the broccoli, ham, half of the onions and cheese. , Spoon remaining soup mixture over cheese and top with remaining onions. Cover and cook over low heat for 20-25 minutes or until heated through. Do not stir.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 cup regular rice
2 10oz packages frozen broccoli spears
4 Tbsp. butter or marg.
2 lg. onions, chopped fine (2 cups)
3 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 cups milk
4 cups cubed cooked ham
1 8 oz pkg., sliced American cheese

Steps:

  • 1. cook the rice, f, and spoon into a well greased 13x9 baking dish. 2. cook broccoli, drain well. Place in a single layer over rice in dish. 3. melt butter. In a large skillet, stir onions into butter and saute until soft. Stir in the flour, salt and pepper; cook, stirring constantly until bubbly. Stir in milk, and continue cooking until sauce thickens and bubbles, about 3 minutes. Stir in ham, pour over rice. 4. Place cheese slices over sauce. Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes, until cheese has melted. makes 8 servings.
