SIMPLE GUM DROP FLOWER CAKE
Gum drops make the petals of this incredibly easy flower cake. Use a rolling pin to roll the gum drops into petal shapes!

Steps:
- Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Grease bottoms and sides of 2 (8-inch) round cake pans with shortening or cooking spray.
- Make and bake cake mix as directed on box for 8-inch rounds. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans to cooling racks. Cool completely, about 1 hour. For easier handling, refrigerate or freeze cakes 30 minutes to 1 hour or until firm.
- On serving plate, place 1 cake layer, rounded side down. Spread with 1/2 cup of the frosting. Top with second cake layer, rounded side up. Frost top and sides of cake with remaining frosting.
- On sugared surface, use rolling pin to roll gumdrops into oval shapes.
- Place 23 gumdrop ovals around the edge of the top of the cake, overlapping slightly. Create a second circle inside the first circle using 15 gumdrops. Repeat once more in the center of the cake with the remaining 7 gumdrops. Place a miniature marshmallow in the center of the cake to form the center of the flower.

GUM DROP CAKE
I grew up with this as a boy. My mom would make this at Christmas every year for me. Oh, how I loved this.

Steps:
- 1. Beat butter and sugar together and fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Combine flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- 2. Reserve 1/4 mix with gum drops and nuts. Stir remainder alternately with creamed butter/sugar mixture. Stir in gum drops and nuts and peels.
- 3. Spread batter in greased and floured tube pan.
- 4. Bake 300 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- 5. Remove immediately from pan.....cool and wrap.

GUM DROP CAKE
Not everyone likes fruitcake but I have the solution. My friend gave this to me cause I do not like fruitcake. Its different and it does tatse good. See if you like it or fool someone and tell them its a fruitcake.

- Combine shortening and sugar until well blended. Add eggs-- beat well. Sift flour and combine cloves, salt, and soda.Add to drained raisins, gum drops, and nuts. Toss and coat well with flour. Add to batter along with sauce and water. Turn into Greased bundt pan. Bake for 2 hours in 275 degree oven.this is a very dense batter so muscle up .
