GRILLED GARLIC SCAPES
I got some garlic scapes in my veg box and wondered if I could just throw them on the grill. Success! They came out yummy and made a nice side dish to burgers.

Steps:
- Combine garlic scapes, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl and turn to coat evenly. Marinate for 20 minutes.
- Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
- Place garlic scapes on the grill and grill until well charred and tender at the thickest part, 1 to 2 minutes per side.

Steps:
- Rinse garlic whistles in water and then soak in a mixture of the olive oil, salt, pepper and lemon juice for about 30 minutes.
- Did not test --->>>Cook on an outdoor grill (medium heat) for about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Alternate method for stove top preparation which I tested: use a grill pan and cook the same way as Step #2.

Try this with any meat BBQ. Edit on July 17: I made this for the first time for my husband & myself last weekend - it was delicious! I combined the leftovers with a foil wrapped mixed veggie packet on the BBQ the next day & they were just as good or maybe even better!

Steps:
- Cut scapes into pieces about 2 inches long& place onto a large sheet of foil wrap.
- Sprinkle liberally with olive oil; season to taste with salt& pepper.
- Bundle up the foil& grill for about 10 minutes or until soft& golden.
