Bacon Wrapped Green Bean Bundles are loaded with a herby, buttery flavor and a hint of sweetness! They can easily be made to suit dairy-free, low carb, paleo, and Whole30 diets. They're also naturally gluten-free!

1 1/2 pounds thin fresh green beans (haricot verts or french green beans work best))
6 slices bacon (cut in half (do not use thick-cut bacon))
1/4 cup butter (melted)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2-4 Tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 Tablespoon fresh rosemary (finely chopped)
1 Tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup. Separate the bacon slices and lay flat on the baking sheet. Bake for 8 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the green beans for 2 minutes, just until they are bright green and slightly tender. Drain and rinse with cold water for 1 minute immediately or put in ice bath. Pat dry.
  • Combine butter, garlic powder, and salt in a small bowl. Pour over green beans, tossing to coat.
  • Wrap 8-10 green beans into a bundle with half a piece of bacon, securing with a toothpick. Lay on the baking sheet and repeat until all of the beans are wrapped. Combine brown sugar, pepper, and rosemary. Sprinkle over the bundles.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until the bacon is crispy and the green beans are tender. Sprinkle with chopped parsley.

3 teaspoons olive oil
1 teaspoon minced garlic
2 ½ cups fresh green beans, trimmed
1 tablespoon brown sugar
sea salt to taste
3 slices smoked bacon, cut into small strips, or to taste
4 tablespoons chicken broth, or more as needed

Steps:

  • Heat oil in a skillet over low heat. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Stir in green beans and brown sugar, and season with sea salt. Add bacon, increase heat to medium, and stir.
  • Pour chicken broth into the pan, cover, and let simmer for 10 minutes. Stir, adding more broth if needed. Cover and cook for another 10 minutes. Stir, uncover, and simmer over low heat until liquid evaporates, about 10 minutes more. Serve.

11/2 lb green beans, trimmed
1/2 c unsalted butter
1/2 tsp mustard, dry
1 tsp brown sugar, packed
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 tsp kosher salt
8 oz bacon

Steps:

  • 1. 1.Fill a large saucepan with water and bring it to a boil over high heat. 2.Wash and trim the beans. 3.Add the beans to the boiling water and blanch for 3 to 4 minutes, until the beans are pliable but still crunchy. 4.Drain the beans and run them under cold water. Pat dry with paper towels or a clean dish towel and place them in a shallow ovenproof casserole. 5.In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. 6.Stir in the dry mustard, brown sugar, garlic and salt. 7.Pour the butter mixture over the green beans, cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. 8.Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. 9.Make a bundle of 8 or 9 beans, wrap half a bacon slice around each bundle, securing with a toothpick, and arrange in a single layer in the same casserole used for marinating. 10.Bake, uncovered, for 45 minutes or until the bacon is cooked and the beans look wrinkled. 1 (12 ounce) package bacon, strips cut in half
1 (16 ounce) package frozen cut green beans
2 tablespoons brown sugar
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a casserole dish.
  • Set out the bacon, green beans and casserole dish in a little assembly line. Lay out a half strip of bacon. place a small bunch of green beans (6 or 7) onto the strip of bacon and roll up into a bundle. Place the bundle into the casserole dish, seam side down. Repeat with remaining bacon strips and green beans. You can pack these pretty tight in the pan, just know that if the bacon is touching another bundle they take some prying to get apart. Sprinkle with the brown sugar and salt and pepper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until browned and heated through, about 20 minutes.

I carry this dish to all the potluck dinners I attend because it's always a hit. I take extra recipe cards because everyone wants a copy.

20 fresh green beans
2 maple-flavored bacon strips, halved
1/4 cup butter, cubed
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoons orange juice concentrate

Steps:

  • Place beans in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Cook, uncovered, for 3 minutes; drain. Place bacon on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave on high for 45-60 seconds or until edges curl. Wrap 5 green beans with a half bacon strip; secure with a wooden toothpick. Repeat. , Place bundles in a greased 1-qt. baking dish. In a small saucepan, combine the butter, brown sugar and orange juice concentrate. Cook and stir over medium heat until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved. Pour over bundles. These are the best green bean bundles I have ever tasted. I make them every Thanksgiving and for parties, everone raves about them. It certainly isn't the healthiest, but is the tastiest! I got the recipe from a friend of a friend-so not sure where it orginated. They are time consuming to make, and you have to plan ahead but I promise you they are well worth it!

3 (14 1/2 ounce) cans green beans
10 slices bacon
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup melted butter
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1 dash soy sauce
toothpick

Steps:

  • Cut bacon into thirds.
  • Wrap 8-10 beans in a piece of bacon and secure with toothpick.
  • Place in 9 X 13 casserole.
  • Cover with marinade of brown sugar, butter, garlic salt, and soy sauce.
  • Refrigerate overnight.
  • Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
