This is an easy yet delicious way to prepare green beans. Slightly crispy and bursting with flavor!

2 pounds fresh green beans, rinsed and trimmed
½ cup margarine
½ onion, chopped
1 tablespoon minced garlic
½ cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons beef bouillon
¼ cup water
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add green beans and cook for 5 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water.
  • Melt margarine in a large saucepan over high heat. Mixing well, add green beans, onions and garlic. Stir in soy sauce. While stirring, add bouillon and water. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Even though these are canned green beans, they don't taste like it. No one ever suspects these are canned. I always get rave reviews. If you like crispier green beans, you could use fresh or frozen and adjust the cooking time. I hope you like them.

2 can(s) italian style green beans
2 tsp dry minced onions
1 large chicken bouillon cube
2 can(s) water

Steps:

  • 1. Open cans of beans. Pour off the liquid, it tends to have a canned flavor. Rinse green beans in can twice to get all that flavor off. Pour off water. Pour green beans in a medium size saucepan. Cover with two cans of water.
  • 2. Add the chicken bouillon cube and dry minced onions. Cover and bring to a boil on high. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 30 to 45 minutes. That's it. Enjoy!

2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt

1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon onion powder
