Number Of Ingredients 10

1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 pound ground beef
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
2 tablespoons chopped green onion
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the egg, bread crumbs, salt and pepper. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into four patties. In a large skillet, brown patties on both sides. Remove and set aside; drain drippings., In the same skillet, combine the remaining ingredients. Return patties to the skillet. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes or until a thermometer reads 160°. Freeze option: Cool beef patties in sauce. Freeze in freezer containers. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Heat through slowly in a covered skillet until a thermometer inserted in patties reads 165°, stirring occasionally and adding a little water if necessary.

¼ cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
1 egg
¼ cup steak sauce (e.g. A-1)
¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tablespoon steak sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat grill for high heat.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, seasoned bread crumbs, egg, 1/4 cup of steak sauce, and mozzarella cheese using your hands. Shape into 4 patties.
  • Lightly oil the grill grate. Cook patties for 5 minutes per side, or until well done. Baste with additional steak sauce while cooking if desired.

1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
½ onion, finely chopped
½ cup shredded Colby Jack or Cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 egg
1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
½ teaspoon crushed dried rosemary
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat a grill for high heat.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, onion, cheese, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, egg, onion soup mix, garlic, garlic powder, parsley, basil, oregano, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 patties.

This recipe comes from Danny's Restaurant in Bathurst, New Brunswick. The sauce is spooned into the middle of and then over a cheeseburger, so a fork and knife is needed to eat this bad boy!

3 teaspoons dry mustard
1 green pepper, diced
1 cup pickle juice (bread & butter or sweet- do not use vinegar)

  • Mix all ingredients together in medium pot and boil about 5 minutes to thicken. Pour sauce in and over a cheeseburger.
