This is an awesome salad. It is different than any other and I always have it for Thanksgiving.

Number Of Ingredients 8

7 fluid ounces lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
2 cups miniature marshmallows
1 (3 ounce) package lime flavored Jell-O® mix
8 ounces cream cheese
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple with juice
¾ cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon mayonnaise
1 cup frozen whipped topping, thawed

Steps:

  • In a non-reactive sauce pan, combine the carbonated beverage and marshmallows; heat until dissolved stirring constantly. Add gelatin and stir until dissolved.
  • Add cream cheese and blend by hand or with electric mixer until smooth.
  • Add pineapple and juice, nuts, mayonnaise and whipped topping. Pour into 7x11 dish, chill until set.

I CAN remember looking forward to eating this pretty salad when I was a child. It has all the ingredients a child would like. My Grandmother served it during the holidays and on other special occasions and my Mother did the same.

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 packages (3 ounces each) orange gelatin
1 cup boiling water
1 pint orange or pineapple sherbet
1 can (11 ounces) mandarin oranges, drained
1 can (8 ounces) crushed pineapple, drained
1 cup miniature marshmallows
1 cup heavy whipping cream, whipped

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add sherbet; stir until smooth. Stir in the oranges, pineapple and marshmallows. Fold in whipped cream. , Pour into a 6-cup serving bowl. Cover and refrigerate for 3-4 hours or until set.
