Notes: If you prefer a spritzer on the sweet side, use lemon-lime soda; add mineral water or soda just before serving. For an adult version, add 3 to 4 tablespoons vodka--or if you're adventurous, Campari--to each glass.

5 cups refrigerated or canned cranberry-raspberry juice blend
2/3 cup grenadine
5 cups chilled lemon-flavor mineral water or lemon-lime soda (see notes)
1 lemon (about 5 oz.), rinsed and thinly sliced (ends discarded)

Steps:

  • In a 3- to 3 1/2-quart glass pitcher, mix juice blend and grenadine. Pour in mineral water and add lemon slices. Pour into tall, ice-filled glasses (at least 12 oz.).

1 cup raspberries
1 cup blueberries
10 ounces strawberries
3/4 cup sugar
6 cups seltzer
Ice

Steps:

  • In a small pot, bring raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, and sugar to a boil over medium-high. Remove from heat and mash with a potato masher. Pour through a fine-mesh sieve into a large container, pressing on solids to extract as much liquid as possible; discard solids. Refrigerate until cold, 30 minutes. Add seltzer and serve over ice with crushed raspberries and blueberries if desired.

3 cups blackberries
1 cup raspberries
1/2 cup Simple Syrup for Mixed Drinks
1/2 cup white grape juice
1/3 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
Ice, for serving (optional)
Seltzer or sparkling wine, chilled
Patriotic fruit skewers, for garnish (optional)

Steps:

  • Place blackberries, raspberries, simple syrup, grape juice, and lemon juice in the jar of a blender; puree until smooth. Strain mixture through a fine mesh sieve, discarding solids.
  • Fill 8 Collins glasses with ice, if using. Divide mixture evenly between glasses; top with seltzer or wine and serve immediately garnished with fruit skewers, if desired.
