SCRAMBLED EGGS WITH SLICED HOT DOGS

Scrambled Eggs With Sliced Hot Dogs image

I really can't remember the first time I had eggs with hot dogs - I know it was many, many years ago. I think it comes from the days when we use to fry bologna slices. It's good with just the eggs and dogs, but also good with diced green bell peppers and diced onions with cheddar cheese. I serve this with orange slices, English muffins, and sliced tomatoes. Preparation and cooking times are an estimate.

The Legendary Egg Dog image

I like a morning breakfast sandwich, but I was out of bread. Luckily I had leftover hot-dog buns from my all-star game party and a legend was born.

EGG-CEPTIONAL HOT DOGS

Egg-ceptional Hot Dogs image

Well, this isn't the prettiest hot dog in the world, but it is one of the tastiest. It may sound strange, but it's truly delicious. Adding eggs and Sriracha on top of the chili dog definitely turned a deli dog into something special. You can easily make this with your favorite canned chili and hot dogs... you don't need to...

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 deli hot dog with chili and onion
1 tsp mayonnaise
1 tsp yellow mustard
cooking spray
2 medium whole eggs
2-3 dash(es) Sriracha sauce

Steps:

  • 1. Remove the hot dog and bun from the store package and place in a paper towel (roll it around the bun) on a microwave plate. Do not microwave yet. Leave in the microwave until eggs are covered.
  • 2. Spray a small non-stick skillet. Place it on medium heat. Crack in 2 medium eggs.
  • 3. As soon as whites are set, place a lid on the skillet and turn off the heat.
  • 4. Set microwave for 25 seconds and heat hot dog. Remove the hot dog and remove paper towel.
  • 5. Add the mayo and mustard to the bun. Set aside.
  • 6. Remove the lid from skillet. The tops of yolks should be white and yolks set but not too firm. Cut eggs in half; you now have 4 pieces. Place these on top of the hotdog.
  • 7. Sprinkle eggs with Sriracha. enjoy.
