1 package yellow cake mix (regular size)
1/3 cup butter, softened
1 large egg, room temperature
FILLING:
1-1/2 cups corn syrup
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 large eggs, room temperature
1 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 13x9-in. baking pan with foil; grease foil., Reserve 2/3 cup cake mix; set aside. Combine remaining cake mix, butter and 1 egg; beat on low speed until blended. Press onto bottom of prepared pan. Bake 15 minutes. Cool on a wire rack., For filling, beat corn syrup, brown sugar, vanilla and reserved cake mix until blended. Add eggs; beat on low speed just until combined. Pour over warm crust; sprinkle with pecans., Bake until center is set, 25-30 minutes longer. Cool completely in pan on a wire rack. To serve, refrigerate at least 15 minutes. Lift out of pan; discard foil, then cut into bars.

3/4 cup butter, divided
1 package (17-1/2 ounces) sugar cookie mix
4 large eggs, room temperature, divided use
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 ounce semisweet chocolate, chopped
1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons bourbon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
6 tablespoons butter, cubed
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar
1 tablespoon baking cocoa

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a microwave, melt 1/2 cup butter in a large microwave-safe bowl. Stir in cookie mix, 1 egg and cinnamon. Spread into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Bake until edges are lightly browned, 12-15 minutes. Remove to a wire rack., Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, melt chocolate and remaining 1/4 cup butter; stir until smooth. Cool slightly. In a large bowl, beat brown sugar and remaining 3 eggs until blended. Stir in bourbon, vanilla and chocolate mixture. Stir in pecans. Pour over warm cookie crust. Bake until top is golden brown, 15-20 minutes. Cool completely in pan on a wire rack., For caramel sauce, in a small saucepan, cook and stir brown sugar and butter over medium heat until butter is melted. Gradually add cream; bring to a boil. Cook and stir until slightly thickened, 10-12 minutes. Remove from the heat. Cool completely., For chocolate whipped cream, in a large bowl, beat cream, confectioners' sugar and cocoa until stiff peaks form. Serve bars with caramel sauce and chocolate whipped cream.

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
½ cup butter
½ cup margarine
5 eggs
1 cup dark corn syrup
¾ cup white sugar
1 pinch salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  • Combine flour and brown sugar. Cut in butter and margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Press into a 9 x 13 inch pan and bake for 10 minutes.
  • Combine remaining ingredients except pecans and blend well. Stir in pecans. Pour over baked crust.
  • Reduce oven temperature to 275 degrees F (140 degrees C). Bake 50 minutes or until set. Cool in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.

1 (18 1/4 ounce) box chocolate cake mix
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 egg, slightly beaten
3 eggs
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup dark corn syrup
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/4 cups coarsely chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Set oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease a 13" x 9" baking pan.
  • Set aside 1 cup of cake mix for the filling.
  • For the crust: In a large mixing bowl, combine the remaining cake mix, butter, and slightly beaten egg.
  • Stir with a fork until crumbly.
  • Transfer into prepared pan.
  • With lightly floured hands, press lightly and evenly into bottom of pan to form a crust (don't pack crust down to hard).
  • Bake the crust for 12 minutes (don't over bake).
  • Meanwhile, for filling, in a medium bowl, combine the second mixture of eggs, brown sugar, cornsyrup and vanilla.
  • Add the reserved 1 cup of cake mixture; stir with a fork, just until blended (do not beat, some tiny clumps will remain thats okay!).
  • Spread filling evenly over baked crust; sprinkle evenly with pecans.
  • Bake 25-30 minutes, or until the filling appears set when pan is gently shaken.
  • Cool completely on wire rack.
  • Cut into bars.

Super fast receipe from the Pillsbury Bake-off that I modified. I made 4 pans and exactly 1 hour after I started I was pulling them out of the oven. My co-workers loved them.

1 can pillsbury refrigerated crescent dinner roll
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 beaten egg

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Unroll crescent rolls into bottom of 9x13, 9x11, or 9x12 inch ungreased baking pan.
  • Spread the dough over the bottom of the pan, and up the sides 1/2 inch.
  • Use a drop or two of water to help seal the perforations in the dough.
  • Bake in 350 oven for 8-9 minutes.
  • It won't be cooked through.
  • Meanwhile, mix together all other ingredients.
  • Pour/spread pecan mixture over partially baked dough.
  • Bake for another 20-22 minutes.
  • Let cool for at least 1 hour, then cut into bars.

1 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
1 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup butter
4 large eggs (lightly beaten)
3 1/2-4 cups finely chopped pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Combine flour, sugar and salt in a large bowl.
  • Cut in 3/4 cup butter thoroughly with pastry blender until you have fine crumbs.
  • Press mixture evenly into sprayed or greased 13 x 9 baking pan.
  • Bake at 350 for 17-20 minutes until lightly browned.
  • Combine brown sugar, corn syrup and 1/2 cup butter in a sauce pan.
  • Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring gently.
  • Remove from heat.
  • To avoid scrambling the eggs, temper the lightly beaten eggs by stirring in 1/4 heated mixture into eggs gradually.
  • Once tempered, add egg mixture to sauce pan and stir in pecans and vanilla.
  • Pour filling over crust and bake at 350 for 25 minutes, or until set.

They might even be the best thing to ever come out of your 13x9 pan-but we'll let you be the judge.

1 pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ sugar cookie mix
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 egg
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spray bottom of 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
